I wonder what they are going to do with CatCo. Ian Gomez is going to be in a new series on CBS, "By the Book" so probably no more Snapper Carr. I doubt Calista Flockhart would be in more than a few episodes.
And James has been such an absentee boss it's hard to see him being a major player at CatCo again. Cast a yet another boss for Kara? Just abandon CatCo altogether?

^Yes, I'm extremely curious about this situation.

Snapper Carr barely played in Season 2. He could still guest star every now and then. It's not like he was a regular.

Just never have Cat and Snapper in the same episodes. Then in the ones Cat can't be in, Kara is answering to Snapper and vice versa, and that will fill up some of that void. The rest of them could be like episodes this season where she didn't even seem to be doing any kind of journalism.

They should just drop Catco. Having the Daily Planet without a Lois Lane and Perry White does not a Daily Planet make. Having Catco without Cat and Snapper makes it practically useless.

You want them to drop Kara's career, too?

She's put it to use all of what? like 2 episodes this season? She can move to another paper or start her blog that is instafamous.

But what's the point of another paper? You're still gonna need a boss there too. After all the devotion she's shown CatCo and how much she cares about that place, it would be foolish to just drop it now, imo. Just keep her at CatCo and give her another boss if you need to. It's not like Snapper Carr is some irreplaceable icon like Perry White.

They could bring in another boss but I fear it would just be a retread of what we've already had.

It doesn't have to be "fresh," though. It just has to be her job. She's a reporter. Show her reporting on interesting stories that tie into the plot. Job done.

No one worries about how to make Clark's job not a retread. It's just a part of his daily life.

And bosses change at work all the time. Or they get promoted or reassigned and someone else takes over. It's not like it's unrealistic. It's just part of life.

I'm not worried about Kara's job retreading, it would be whoever they bring in to replace Cat and Snap.

Well yes, I'd hope they would bring in someone with a different flavor than those two. But Kara's gonna have to have a job somewhere, which means she's gonna have to have a boss. I don't see why she needs to leave CatCo since that will be the case no matter where she goes. She likes it there, and they already have the set, lol.

This third Kryptonian could be either Eradicator or H'El.

I will bet you Mxyzptlk returns to have Supergirl all for himself with Mon-El in the Phantom Zone.

I'm thinking we are due for an appearance by Eradicator. He is one of the few major villains from Krypton besides Zod and his cohorts.

I hope he returns with his wife in tow. If Kara's single at that point, of course he'd want to rub it in her face that she missed her shot, lol.

  • - Less of James
    - Mon el gone for good.
    - Less episodes (15/20). Shorter seasons always get better storylines and maybe they could give us more good fights/FX.
    - Give Lena friends and an arc that doesn't revolve around her last name.

Except if Arrow and Flash get their usual 23 episodes then Supergirl comes off as the red-headed step child with only 15-20 episodes. As it was we only got 22 episodes this season compared to their 23.

If they're gonna do the Worldkillers, I'd rather they do the whole group, but I still have to admit that Reign seems a pretty likely possibility.

What if it's Doomsday Davis Bloome of Earth-38?

As for what I'd like, well I'd like that the big event episodes still emphasized a big scale with a nice big budget and not fall into the usual CW traps. It's sort of embarrassing that the alien invasion threat felt bigger here in the finale than in the CW Invasion crossover.

So many things:

- Jimmy moves back to Metropolis to be Superman's pal. Or he becomes a junior DEO agent.
- Bigger focus on Kara, her developing career as a journalist and her sibling relationship.
- Permanently depower J'onn and M'gann or come up with better reasons for why they don't use their awesome super powers consistently or on a regular basis. I think they're both too powerful for the show, so an alien virus which locks them in their human form and only leaves them with super strength would be good to see. It would also be a nice story arc for the characters as they struggle to adapt to their new circumstances.
- Mon-El went through a portal to the 31st century. He accepts responsibility as a hero, matures as a person and joins the Legion of Superheroes. He's dedicated to his new role, but appears in a trilogy of episodes to come back in time to request Supergirl's help. At the end, they decide to separate because they each have responsibilities as heroes in their respective times. Or have them agree to a long distance relationship.
- Lena Luthor remains good, but her desire for corporate success can sometimes conflict with Kara's socialist views.
- Cat Grant returns in a more regular role. If not every episode, then at least every 3/4 episodes.
- Winn ditches his manipulative, unethical and unstable girlfriend. He has terrible taste in women, except for Kara.
- More every day heroics from Kara. They don't need to form the basis of an episode, but small scenes showing Kara helping out with missing children, home fires, traffic accidents, etc would be great to see. A scene based on the iconic Superman panel where he talks a young suicidal girl off the ledge would be lovely to see.
- No relationship drama for Alex and Maggie. Maggie can say yes to the proposal, but say that the wedding won't happen for at least 2 years. They need to move in together before they get married.
- I guess relationship drama for Kara is unavoidable and it's probably too early to introduce Bariniac 5 as her one true love, but maybe just show her having fun, dating multiple men (after she breaks up with Mon-El).
- No more alien dive bar. If they want to show aliens as part of daily life in National City, then have Cat Grant start an affirmative action plan to hire aliens at CatCo and have an alien be Kara's new coworker / assistant / friend.
- Multiple smaller story arcs would be grea to see. A Doomsday like threat can't reasonably be dragged out over 22 episodes. Doomsday (or similar) is too dangerous for Supergirl and the DEO to take their time stopping that threat. So, use small villains and save the mysterious baby for the episodes leading up to sweeps or whatever the popular ratings period is in the US. The Legion of Superheroes can be another mini story arc. Doing something with J'onn and M'gann another story arc. Compact the story telling into smaller blocks of episodes.
- Have some fun with the villains - go crazy and bizarre! Draw from all corners of the DC universe.
- Introduce Queen Hippolyta (played by Lucy Lawless) as an Ambassador from Themyscira in another small story arc dealing with her history as a Wonder Woman during WW2 and teaming up with Supergirl to stop a modern day threat. She can mention maybe sending her daughter to man's world at the end.
- A good team up episode with Supergirl and Miss Martian (and maybe Winn's girlfriend) saving the day. A girl's night out style episode.

I like all of these, but we won't be seeing Doomsday or Wonder Woman on the CW.....only in the movies.
