A reboot would be nice, but I see no reason why they wouldn't try to make a fourth movie. If Michael Bay isn't up for it, he's easily replaceable. So is Shia.

I have to go with b, but I wouldn't mind c. It just needs a better director and writers.

Complete reboot in 10 years but Paramount probably won't wait that long. No point in continuing Bay's universe. Get someone who can actually give a great story with substance that we all now this franchise can be.

I don't really care as long as they continue to make more TF movies. Wish they would do more before Peter Cullen gets to old to still do the Optimus Prime voice but they could always find a replacement voice actor with a similar baritone voice as Peter Cullen but he would still always be best Optimus Prime ever.

Semi reboot maybe? Like they could pull a Casino Royal. Keep the supporting cast but introduce a new main character. As much has I hate what Bay has done with the franchise, it would be sad to see certain characters go. Like Lennox and Sideswipe.

http://www.seibertron.com/transforme...trilogy/22245/
"With the success of Transformers Dark of the Moon speculation is already starting to swirl around the possibility of future films. Producer Don Murphy has chimed in with his thoughts on his message board: "What happens next? Certainly not a reboot. We haven't lost the Transformers. They didn't grow up or become expensive like Toby Maguire. I don't know what happens next. I'm pretty sure there will be a second trilogy. I am pretty sure it will kick ass. And I am pretty sure some of you will hate it because it wasn't all bots."" |

No reboot, just do what Transformers has always done and continue a similar story with similar characters. Like Don Murphy said they didn't "blow up" and there are only about 100,000 Transformers left to use so why reboot? If people honestly expect them to make a G1 movie yeah good luck with that, Hasbro has been making more money NOT doing that for the past 25 years.

Again, why do people keep thinking since 80's Transformers were silly and didn't make sense that the movies have to as well? How could anybody that calls themselves a Transformers fan not care that the movies were treated to horribly?

What was produced was every bit as good as Transformers The Movie 1986. A movie beloved by the fanbase. Considering it's considerable financial impact for both Hasbro and it's fictions I wouldn't say he "treated them horribly".

Making a lot of money does not equal making something of quality. And the live action movies are nowhere near as good as the 86 movie.

Unicron never explained, just shows up. Great set up there. The Matrix was never explained, and was basically retconned in. We'd already seen what Optimus' inards looked like and the Matrix was conveinently abscent. The MATRIX WAS NEVER PART OF THE SHOW. You'd be surprised how many people who hate Bay's take never knew this. In fact NONE of the movie was in the show. The moon bases? Nope. Ultra Magnus, Kup, Daniel, Hot Rod, Wheelie, The Quintessons, any of it? Nope. Not even Autobot City. They are all just there. The connections are never explained. The Quintessons were supposedly agents of Unicron, but in the final movie they show up, unannounced, and serve no purpose in the general plot EXCEPT they make one huge plot hole: How did Hot Rod and Kup know where Magnus and the others were? Also Magnus was never supposed to be randomly killed in the original. His arms and legs were to have been pulled off. You can see this is the repair sequence, and if you watch the death scene and listen to the audio. However the "draw and quartering" was deemed inappropriate, so instead we got a random exploding Magnus. Let's see what else Oh yeah Hot Rod: "Where is Galvatron, where is he?" Wreck-Gar: "And the answer is...Unicron" (By the way scintilating dialogue there) How the flying f*** did Wreck-Gar know this, at all, by any wrapping of my mind. He'd met Galvatron like ten seconds ago, and never talked or interacted with him in any meaningful way whatsoever ![]() What else is wrong with that movie...hmmmm.... ...Oh did you notice how many characters show up in two places at once: Hound, Sunstreaker, Dirge, Thundercracker and a few others. Thundercracker is reformatted by Unicron, and appears 2 minutes later at Starscream's coronation. By the way Starscream's treachery in that movie would mean literally NOTHING to someone who hadn't watched the show, neither would Soundwave's compassion towards Megatron. The movie does absolutely zilch to set up the characters. Nothing is done to set up Hot Rod as the leader, he just fights Galvatron, gets Matrix, whoops leader. Why didn't it do that when he held it the first time? Never explained. Why didn't Optimus know it was him, he's carrying the damn thing? Never explained. The purpose of the Matrix is never really explained. Does the Matrix make you a bigger stronger robot? Why didn't Optimus revert back to Orion Pax when he passed it? Why didn't Magnus start calling himself Prime? Never explained Also the dialogue is incredibly clunky. But yes, it's a much better film than Transformers or Dark of the Moon ![]() Last edited by Optimus_Prime_; 07-06-2011 at 07:50 PM. |

Besides Transformers:the movie is there another piece of transformers storytelling that is serious in thematic tone? I've wondered because i think the Bay movies are terrible but a whole lot of fun. Its what I expect when I go to see a movie where the source material is a toy. People who say Bay ruined their childhood weird me out when the whole objective of transformers is to see big robots fight.
Maybe I don't understand transformers, so if I don't tell me where the rich thematic story telling is. Other than that Bay remains one of the best in displaying action and I'm not sure a reboot would make a better film.

Define "quality" because there's a reason millions of people have watched these Transformers films above almost everything else the last 5 years.

Word is Shia/Bay are done with Transformer series and they are looking at Jason Stathem as lead man since him and that chick are dating..Something about taking it to a darker tone, but until its all finalized I don't buy it.

Considering the amount of characters that are now dead, especially Decepticons, I don't really want to see a fourth one.

Spider-man 4 was in production when they decided to scrap the whole thing and launch a reboot. So ya never know.
and who cares what Don Murphy says? I'm pretty sure Spielberg has final say. Murphy is Spielberg's stooge.
