I was watching the last Inside Xbox episode on YouTube and it seems like FreeSync is not only exclusive to X or S... but as well as the original Xbox One as well.

So this sounds great as my Xbox One is already hooked up to my ASUS Gaming Monitor along with my PC. Although will it improve the game? Aren't the hardware between all three dramatically different?

K. Did research. So. I have a few issues with my monitor in order to get FreeSync to work on the Xbox one.

But! Original Xbone One consoles can do FreeSync. *I have a few theories and cheap work-around and see if I can get it to work.

Otherwise, my choices of getting a monitor or tv with a HDMI cable that does Freesync will not be available to me just yet.

That being said, I looked around and found this video on the current outlook on FreeSync on Xbox One.

so for those here who own an Xbox One X, how are you liking it so far?

would you say it's a worthy upgrade from the OG X1 or X1 S?

would you say the $500 price tag is justified?

do you regret buying the X?

I would like to get your thoughts and opinions.

Hey mate, sorry just saw you PM'd me. My PM box got full straight after I saw Infinity War. Couldn't keep up with responses. Responding to this post and PM at the same time.

For me it's definitely worth it. I'm certainly satisfied with it. No issues so far. I wouldn't say the differences are easy to notice unless you do a side by side comparison as you just get used to whatever you're seeing and your mind adjusts too quickly to treat that like the new normal. Performance wise everything is very smooth. It was worth the money for me but I guess that's different for everyone depending how much use they're going to get out of it.

hey man. no prob. hope you enjoyed Infinity War and everything is all right with you.

and thanks for sharing your thoughts and impressions re the X1X. glad you are liking it so far.

I feel like I'm closer to finally pulling the trigger on getting an X. could be as early as a few weeks.

been getting "deeper" into the MS ecosystem with some other MS products and I quite like the "connected" experience.

plus, I still have need for an all-in-one multi-media machine and as I weigh the options, the X always comes to the top of the list.

and I've been saving up for some big reward points, which should be coming due soon.

just been scarred by my past experiences and bad luck with Xbox, y'know. but I guess a part of me still wants to be part of the Xbox family. or else I'm just a sucker for pain and punishment.

wow! 6 times. you must really enjoy the film.

and I'm still undecided on the X. maybe with E3 just around the corner, perhaps it would be prudent to wait for that and see what MS ( and Sony ) have to offer.

how's Scarlet Witch in IW? does she play an important role? does she die?

and I hope MS has a strong showing at E3. they need to show AAA quality exclusives to get ppl ( and me ) more excited for the Xbox. They need games equivalent to God of War and Spider-Man, not just stuff like Sea of Thieves. And these games need to be relatively near term in the future, not stuff that's going to be several years out. cuz by then, we'll probably be thinking about the next gen of consoles ( which is kind of hard to believe ).

Great. Yes IMO & you need to watch it for the last bit lol. It's hard to explain to someone who hasn't seen it.

Yeah hopefully we get games like those. Both look amazing.

it's part of my dilemma.

I've been using a standalone Sony 4K player. it works fine for the most part, but I've been having audio problems when using the USB port for digital files. Stuff like, audio and video out of sync for some files. some files no audio at all. and it seems like the 1st several seconds of audio tend to get cut off consistently across all video files.

But all these video files work perfectly fine on my computer and on other devices ( like the PS4 ).

Talked to Sony support and they said it's possible the USB port is faulty, since I don't have audio issues when playing discs or streaming.

So, I've been thinking about returning it and getting it exchanged if possible. Not sure if I want another Sony player, so was thinking about possibly "trading up" for the Xbox One X.

btw....were you ever able to test out if you could play 4K video files on a USB stick on the X?

Sounds like a right pain. Might be worth trying the X then as you're quite comfortable returning them anyway.

Oh I was thinking about which USB stick to buy so I could keep all my stuff in one place but didn't finish. And then forgot lol.

2.4K views1 day ago Published on 06/07/2018

Today in the Rundown, we discuss the future of console gaming, or if it even has a future. We also get the latest on Crackdown 3, find out when you can play the new zombie game Generation Zero, have an early look at a new game from the makers of Just Cause, have some very interesting developments regarding the Skate franchise, and finally, have some big news about the future of YouTube and Steam!

After my 1st day with the X, here are my initial thoughts.

The console is smaller than I expected, but heavier. Setup was a breeze and seemed to go by fairly quickly. Seemed faster and more responsive than prior X1s.

The new Dashboard layout will take some time to get used to. Don't know why they have to keep changing the layout......lol. But all my apps and games were still on my external drive, ready to go. Need alot of updates, though, with some X Enhanced updates available ( I think ).

Fortunately, the controller seems to work good right out of the box ( had controller issues in the past ).

Fired up Diablo III, and maybe it's a placebo effect, but the colors seemed to pop more on the screen. will have to do a comparison with the Pro later on.

so, so far so good. hopefully this time will be the charm for me.

anyways, glad to be back home on Xbox!

I'm looking to upgrade from a XB1S to a XB1X in a few weeks time... and upgrading from a 39 inch HDTV to a 4K HDR screen that could be bigger (looking at about 50 inch atm). just literally waiting on some bloody red tape ******** to get done before i can throw the switch.

Hey dude, great news! Sorry, saw your PM but my box is full and I need to delete a load of old reference PMs.

Glad you liked it so far. I haven't actually played many new different games over the year that I've had the X . Have been focusing on Gears 4 which looks great with the upgrade (and I get to compare it to the S version regularly as that is set up in my bedroom) and been very busy otherwise.

Good luck with the console! What are you planning on playing?
