Love this casting, I've been a fan of D'Onofrio for a long time.

That said, while I know the Kingpin is traditionally great in..... girth, I actually kind of hope he does NOT put on too much additional weight for the roll. He's a big guy as it is and I know he's had health problems in the past (during L&O:CI).

So.... yeah - just my opinion. Looking more forward to the show now, though

Big win for Marvel with this casting. D'Onofrio is perfect.

I would like a statement or an interview with D'Onofrio on how he feels about joining the MCU and playing Fisk.

Although I've seen him as a villain before, I still think of D'Onofrio as Det Goren. I feel he should be questioning the criminals instead of Matt Murdock. He would probably be more effective at it.

Do you think that we'd have seen Robert Redford in a CBM 14 years ago? I think not. Times have changed.

Or Glenn Close or Anthony Hopkins.

MARVEL is really KILLING IT with casting.

That is one of their greatest strengths.

Eh, Ben Kingsley does some crap movies. He probably would have accepted a role in Catwoman. Great actor, but if you'll do an Uwe Boll movie you'll do anything.

Unreal casting! D'Onofrio is a sinfully under-appreciated actor with incredible range. I can't think of anybody better suited for the role, casting really nailed this

Do you think D'Onofrio will be in every episode or just in a select number? He did want his number of episodes reduced for L&O: CI and only agreed to come back for the final season because the episode count was reduced to about 6.

I've always enjoyed his work from L&O, so far Marvel has yet to ever make a casting decision that hasn't turned out really well based on their performances. Or at least as far as I can think off the top of my head. I'm eager to see pics of him in his Kingpin attire.

Yeah, I remembered it being a black suit. I agree with you that the white jacket would work fine and would be the best way to go. I'm not sold on purple pants for Fisk (just like the Hulk didn't get any).

I could see Hopkins. He quite often takes roles he doesn't like and then looks bored in. But I agree with the other names mentioned.

Unlike all the other L&O shows, Criminal Intent was really D'Onofrio's show. It could easily have been called "Goren" or something like that, just like other shows such as Monk, Colombo, Sherlock, Magnum, House, Matlock, Kojak, Matt Houston etc.

Everyone else was almost window dressing to D'Onofrio, even though Kathryn Erbe was good as his partner.

Charlie Cox will really have to hold his own against D'Onofrio. Vincent has enough star power and charisma to carry even this show by himself. Imagine if it were all about the Kingpin instead of DD. I think D'Onofrio may easily steal all the scenes.

Just heard about this and hot damn, I love this casting!

And I'm one of the people who didn't believe Feige was playing coy when he said he "thought" they had the rights to the character and therefore found it highly unlikely we'd be seeing Kingpin anytime soon, so this one of those moments where I say, yep, I was totally wrong. And very happy to be wrong, I might add.

They may want to keep that secret to avoid plot spoilers. Who's to say Elektra is in this season?

Elektra probably won't be cast until she shows up, which doesn't really seem appropriate yet, right at the start.

But Kingpin might be a constant presence throughout the show, right from the beginning, which is why D'Onofrio has been cast from the get go.

One big reason that the stars are looking at CBM roles RDJ getting the $50,000,000 payday. True it was a perfect storm.

I think the potential of a big check is a lot of it..

I was bit more than usual hesitant in regards to Marvel also having the rights to Kingpin but I'm very much pleased that it works out.

I don't remember the last time a role was cast in a superhero project, and the praise was overwhelmingly positive. I'm sure there are those who don't like it, but I've read nothing but positive response online...it's nice to see for a change.

I wonder will he have an ascot? Heh. The stickpin had a single dose of knockout gas. I wonder will Fisk have a college-aged son named Richard and a wife named Vanessa.

I'm hoping for Vanessa Fisk (I have some story ideas involving her and fleshing out Fisk). As for Richard, I think he should exist, but I'm not sold that he needs to be quite that old.

He could still be an adult, because then he could become the Rose.
