If Kitty isn't injured and there isn't rescue scene, then future plot is less interesting, less emotions. Really Bryan, really?

Well yes I think it's possible he got excited and tweeted her before realizing her role in the film worked better as a mystery. And if Bamfers rumors were indeed true, everyone on the internet already knew her entire role.

Her name was attached and helped bring attention and now all eyes are on DOFP and losing her isn't going to kill the hype.

I don't buy that they would cut her especially when it seems the rumors and footage we've seen matches up. Plus the entire thing seems off. His wording about working with Anna seems forced.

as i said it would explain the 2 weeks reshoot, it would mean alot of replaced dialogue and new scenes to fill her role (probably with the new mutants)

And what could they possibly shoot that they'd prefer and think we would prefer over Anna Paquin and a prison break sequence? But if it was in the film why would he ruin it like that? Ugh no Bryan why would you do this?

Singer lying makes no sense. I think people are just desperate not to face reality.

That seems really odd to me too. Like, would they really have written the movie that way originally? That with all the other stuff to be squeezed into the screenplay, there was also a random Rogue rescue sequence that wasn't essential to the mission?

I think we're only getting half the story here. I think Rogue WAS in more scenes (probably something like the "Kitty is incapacitated so Rogue is rescued to take over" plot point everyone was assuming would happen), and the reshoots were done to cover it up.

Real shame though. I was looking forward to her. I know her characterization was a departure from the comics but I always thought she was still a good character and Anna was great. I wonder if the reshoots could have been done in a way that still included Rogue as a member of the team, but maybe scheduling and budget didn't allow for it.

EDIT

Sadly I agree. This is how it was with Cyclops in X3. So many of us couldn't fathom that he would get screwed. People called the picture of the Cyke and Jean graves photoshopped. Folks were so sure that he would pop up at the last minute at the Alcatraz battle or get the after credits scene. It was only afterwards that we realized how deluded we were and that Fox simply had no reason hide him for some sort of epic surprise moment, because they simply didn't care about him. It's the same here.

I just don't get it, what movie were they filming before and what has it turned into? Losing Anna Paquin isn't a good sign for more OT movies.

Well, I'm not surprised at all, that's how Singer works. Remember the 10 million scene he cut from Superman Returns?

Did he cut that or did the studio force him to cut it?

I'm not reading spoilers, but I'm guessing Quicksilver's contribution will be along the lines of: "Run into frame.Look left.Look up.Run out of frame".

I doubt it. Singer has much more juice at FOX than Alan Taylor had at Marvel. I can't see him taking the heat for this decision if it wasn't his choice.

If Kitty isn't injured, they have no worry for Logan's mind back. Future scenes are really emotionless now. They will just fight Sentinels near temple and send Logan's mind to past, meh...
It's sure there was more than one scene with Rogue, only rescue doesn't make any sense. But would Bryan cut off all those scenes and make reshots in 2 weeks? For what reason?

heh, I don't think he will have a big role either.

Anyway I think Singer told the public this news because Rogue was in the trailer. He had to warn people.

re-film scenes to happen differently, padding over rogues role, new ending that doesnt have rogue

I heard he's part of the Magneto prison break in the 70's part of the film.

Today, the only way to make me remotely extited to someting related to this saga is casting Rogue there, with a plot that serves as an apology to Anna Paquin and all Rogue fans

Ok, people need to read the article fully, because so many are ridiculously overreacting. First things first, ROGUE IS NOT GONE FROM THE FILM ENTIRELY. It is ONE sequence that was cut, not her entire role, but that it has just be significantly reduced. She will still be in the film, we just won't see her get rescued from the prison. That's it.
