Pretty amazing. Never though we see so many black superheroes in live action.

We also have Mr Terrific, Kid Flash, Spartan/Diggle Arrow, Gypsy, Vixen, Half of Firestorm, Falcon, War Machine, Valkyrie and Black Goliath.

A Spawn movie is in the works as well.

Kind of popular, but he had a better costume when he first came out.

His original monthly comic from the 70s didn't last more than a year and he didn't get another solo book until the 90s....which also ended after about a year. But in between those runs he was a long standing member of Batman & The Outsiders (and later just The Outsiders), which is probably where most comic fans know him from. And he eventually joined the Justice League in the 00s.

Gotcha. Thanks for the reply.

A ton of these heroes I never even heard of as a kid. I'm glad they're finally getting their chance to shine.

Saw a trailer for this and it looks pretty good, though the costume feels kinda silly, given the subject material. I'm going to give this a shot, but please tell me it's separate from the Arrowverse. I don't want to have to watch 10 other shows just to follow the storyline due to some stupid cross over event where BL is fighting Nazis from another dimension.

It sounds like initially it was its own thing, but are open to it being part of Arrowverse. Don't know if it'll the same Earth as Arrow/Flash/Legends or the one of Supergirl. I assume it'll be its own Earth.

Though it looks like they'll hold off on any crossovers for now. Mostly like since this show is shot in ATL while the others are up in Canada.

Good. Hopefully they'll let it exist on its own, at least for a while.

I'm not crazy about the costume... it looks cheesy to me but maybe it will grow on me. I do hope this turns out good though; we need more POC-led superhero films and TV shows. Hopefully, Black Panther, this and Luke Cage will usher in more and more.

I hope this is a big hit.

I feel that it is. The superhero element, the family bits and the talented acting.

I'm assuming there will be updates to it (if the show lasts long enough, that is).

Loved the show! I wonder if they'll eventually introduce Static or The Outsiders? I mean they already cast Grace Choi, so that's one down.

I could see some version of The Outsiders eventually, but I doubt it on Static as there would be a lot of rights issues to work through. Even if they could do it I'm personally not interested in seeing Static on here. Would rather see him in his movie or tv show.

As for the show itself...it was a decent enough pilot. As I've said before in this thread I hope he will face some supervillains on here eventually. Not interested in seeing nothing but non powered gangsters as antagonists. Also his co-worker (vice-principal?) alone is enough to make me come back for another episode...
