That's because Fistfull of Dollars was done as a western remake of Yojimbo.

Yes, I know. And then later on Walter Hill's Last Man Standing as a gangster one.

Also not a remake this time but similar plots :

Baby Cart (Shogun Assassin)/Road To Perdition.

Road to Perdition is Max Allan Collins homage to Lone Wolf and Cub. Perhaps not a remake, but it's not coincidental.

Only if you've seen it....

I always though Fight Club and The Machinist were kind of similar.

I can see where you'd get that but I don't agree 100%.

In No Way Out and Absolute Power, Gene Hackman's character is EXACTLY the same.

At first I thought only the one scene where it shows Bourne volunteering but I can see other similarities.

The Dark Knight is like a bizarro Spider-Man 2.

Hero realizes that being a superhero sucks, and considers retiring.
He wants to be with the girl he loves, but can't, because of his superhero life. A new man shows up in his loved one's life, who wants to marry the girl he loves.

Only, TDK is different than Spider-Man 2, in that..

The hero doesn't win the heart of the girl he loves.

The hero fails to save the girl and she dies
