the colors are way to dark IMO
Please don't tell me you know that little about post production colour timing procedure my friend. That would be a shame.

I think that the photo we saw of him (without the cape) is a shooting suit and is meant for close ups.

they have suits for walking. those are called the beauty suits. they are used for looking good. for all the promo shots, standing, walking, close ups and wide shots. then they have the special sutis for the wire rig. and a third type suit for stunts. of course if in the movie the suit gets demaged then you can multiply everything. they make holes and add dirt

BUT ALL HAVE the same base colors.

color correction is used to change the mood of the whole image. the enviorment,characters,vehicles,..... its color grading. they will not use computers to change the blue in every shot in the movie.
the suit has dark colors this is a fact. i dont hate it. it will not change my opinion on the movie. but suit colors are dark.

about the suit without the cape. i dont know if you noticed but Cavill was walking IN THE CAR. the cape's are very expensive. they are made out of expensive materials. THERE IS NO WAY THAT THEY WOULD LET CAVILL SIT ON THOSE EXPENSIVE CAPE'S IN THE CAR.and make folds on them. no way. this is the reason why there is no cape

We're don't know. We merely constructing definite conclusions based on assumptions.

1. He won't be wearing the suit in "every shot in the movie"

2. If they did do that, it would probably only be done in the shots that the natural lighting on set called for it (not at night time)

3. if they were changing individual greys in LOTR 10 plus years ago, they will surely be able to do what they need to in this movie especially with their overlong post schedule.

That being said, I think a dark suit is a welcomed change. If we're lucky the colours will look like this.

as opposed to this

but given snyder filmography I have a feeling it might like like oh I don't know..

but with shorter hair of course

He doesn't have the S curl, that's not unknown.
And not sure where you got metallic finish on the shield from.

And you should put textured boots into unknown.

I'm actually surprised of myself how much I dig the new costume. The dark-blue color has grown on me for each pic. And I love that Snyder is going for his own unique look for the character and I'm saying that as a HUGE Donnerverse/Reeve fan.

They both suck in their own unique ways. The colors on the MOS suit are terrible, the blue is ass-ugly and it's worse than the brownish red of the SR suit since he's nothing but a walking blueberry rubber. The scale texture does suck too, for Superman that is.

It's like for this one they decided to mute all the colors to even it out. Of course now he looks much buffer, easier to pull off thanks to the dark blue. The light blue from a suit like SR makes definition very difficult to see unless the "airbrush" over the suit to highlight muscle definition.

They got more things right and more things wrong on the MOS suit than the SR suit. The boots, \S/, collar and cape are all better, red is a better color, the blue is too dark, and they got rid of the trunks and didn't do anything to make up for it so Cavill looks like a walking blueberry condom with an erection. It's freaking ridiculous.

look this is WB last chance for a superman movie. they are tot doing this movie to show how proud they are at superman. they will not risk it. this will be a normal summer blockbuster with obvious dark colors. dark is right now safe. and they are doing it.

Dark is very safe and since this movie is product, not art, and motivated by fear, then I expect a dark and drab palette. Snyder's never showed me much with color-his movies have a great look, but except for DOTD they are all similarly dark and smoky colored.

I think this is how the suit is going to look in the final product:

It's harder to convey definition with darker colors than it is with light. It's a reason why it is recommended to wear black, if you wish to mask heftiness.

As I said in the new photo thread that was being used to discuss the costume... It appears with the reflective qualities to look brighter when the Sun is shining directly on it. When there is no Sun it appears much darker. So cinematically that can be very cool to fit the mood. The brighter more blue Superman during day, and a darker suit that's not standing out as much when he's fighting crime at night. Kinda cool.

i will say again. just whait until you will the sunset and sunrise. if you add orange color on blue it makes it darker. try it out in photoshop or a 3d program. if you light blue with orange it makes it look very dark. now that the blue is already dark and saturated guess how it will look with the sun ? Snyder likes to use orange sun light

Thank god you're not working on these movies.
So, you wanted them to get rid of the trunks, the belt and the boots?
Jesus, are you sure you're a Superman fan?
