They should make another Neverending Story.

Only if it means they'll melt every single copy of the original one to make chairs for the cast and crew of the remake.

I was thinking the cast and crew could burn the copies and dance around the flames, inhaling the toxic fumes and greatness of the past movies so they could make an even better version. Simple but effective.

The first and second one. Those are the best ones to me. Some people don't like the second, but I don't get why.

Hell no to the horrible second film. Just use the original source material... the book! Atreyu is green. It wouldn't be a remake/reboot but a new adaptation.

So Atreyu was white in the first movie, brown in the second, but green in the book? Damn, that's a lot of colors.

Sadly, Never Ending story is never going to happen. I forgot where I read this, but the reason why the remake never fully went anywhere when it was announced is because it got stuck in the tangled web of copyright so much so that the company had to abandon it altogether. I'm unsure of the specifics, just that the way the copyright is laid out - it's too complicated and weaved together to remake. Possibly when/if the copyright runs out though and that web dissolves... as said, unsure why it's that complicated exactly.

That really sucks to hear that about the Neverending Story.

I think the guy's blown 24/7. Didn't Oz say his favorite color was green? I wonder why...

Yeah, right after I heard about Oz's success - I googled Neverending Story because I figured that might also get off the ground. And then I found that article... unsure how things are, but hopefully the copyright will get less tangled at some point...

Saw the movie. Thought it was quite good. The little china girl was adorable. I thought certain parts were strangely moving. Franco was right for the role I thought. I liked the end with Oz's plan and him awarding the gifts.

This movie was better than I thought it would be. I'll give it an 8/10. Random thoughts:

- I've read some complaints about the second act but it never dragged for me. In fact, the whole movie passed by quickly.

- I wish there had been more time for character development. Oscar's and Theodora's relationship in particular needed more time.

- Why was Glinda present in Kansas but not Theodora and Evanora?

- Franco and Kunis were both miscast though they were nowhere near as bad as I'd feared. I think the actors in those roles should have been older.

- Oscar was a little too douchebaggy for my tastes. It's not real clear why so many people liked him upon meeting him.

-Those baboons were TERRIFYING.

-Raimi is a really fun, energetic director. He did a lot to elevate fairly average material.

-I know everyone liked China Girl but she on my nerves once she joined Oscar. She was so useless until the end. Finley, however, was sweet and adorable.

i really liked it...My issues were...

Mila Kunis's characters turn to evil was way too sudden and she literally wants to be evil now..

Felt rushed at certain times in the plot...But overall a great stepping stone for a series if wanted

Theodora wanted to be with Oz as his Queen, and then her sister Evanora tricked her into think Oz was a player of the heart (Which he is) when she produced a replica of the music box and it broke her heart in half when she though he betrayed. Not to mention she saw how happy and delighted Oz was with Glinda.

The thing is, Theodora is completely evil because that green apple caused her heart to wither like Evanora explained. If she could have, she would have stayed good because she realized what Evanora was up to; but at that point she had already bitten into the apple and it was too late.

Which is ultimately disappointing for her character arc. It means that on top of an already flimsy (or at least rushed) transition to evil (likened to a teenaged girl pouting over her first crush, which I suppose is accurate), Theodora doesn't even want to be evil -- she' tricked in to it, and therefore can't really help anything she does afterward. She's simply "bad" because she has be.

Hell, like most teenage girls, she probably would've gotten over it and looked back years later on her d-bag crush with mild embarrassment, like, "how did I ever like that guy?" It sort of makes her unintentionally sympathetic and Oz and Evanora the real a-holes of the story.

Well, the Wizard didn't start off as a nice guy and even in the 1939 movie he's made out to be a fraud but still makes amends to Dorothy and the rest of them.
