I like Caviezel sometimes but he would be boring as hell as Batman.

Bingo. Batman is supposed to be somewhat stoic and monotone, but Caviezel would put me to sleep.

That's one reason, and he has links to the studio already. He's also a good actor with the right people and I think he has a natural darkness that is needed for the character. You look into his eyes and you are creeped out. He can convey creepiness but he's also a handsome guy to me, but not too handsome so much that he's a pretty boy. Not to mention his face has some sharp angular features that I think fits Bruce, and they are a nice contrast to the squareness of Cavill's face. There's something about him that seems off to me, and he has played those odd types of characters before. Other things like him dealing with drug addiction in the past can come out in his performance, dealing with Bruce's compulsion to go out every night and be Batman. Not to mention his age is just right for me. Not too young and not too old, but older than Cavill. There are a lot of reasons why I think he is ideal for the role.

Edit: And Nolan will still have some pull with the studio if he recommends Bentley. That will get him an audition at the very least.

I want to be up and awake while watching my Batman. Caviezel's like a walking lullaby.

Yeah, I pretty much agree with all of that. I'm of the firm belief that an actor doesn't need to look like the comic book Bruce Wayne to be effective in the role (Bale didn't really) but Bentley actually does. And he's good at playing dark characters, so it just seems to fit. He was also just in Hunger Games, which was huge, so mainstream audiences are at least somewhat familiar with him and will be even more so after Interstellar hits.

Well, his onscreen presence might be alittle dull to watch, but one thing is for sure.....that boy can take one hell of a holy ass whooping Batman!

Good points all around. Keaton didn't look like comic Bruce and he was great. Bentley's career is in a good place right now and I think he is more known than Cavill was prior to getting Superman.

I'll like whoever they cast. I'm not going to focus my dislike on someone who may end up getting cast. I think we all need to be open minded.

Besides like I said. ..I'll have GTA V to care anyway

I just can't stand the idea of Mr. Fartface as Batman.

One dude at school used to call me for it, it's not like Armitage's much ...but he knew a girl who went on to become a model liked me

Bentley just creeps me out. I'd rather have Caviezel.

I don't get the criticisms of Caviezel as dull. His performance as Reese on POI is intentionally subdued and stoic, but he has plenty of film roles that don't match that description.

I can't even finish saying Caviezel's name without nodding off a little.

Full approval:

Rupert Friend
Philip Winchester
Michael Fassbender
Anson Mount
Ian Somerhalder

I can dig it:

Ryan Gosling
Jake Gyllenhaal
Luke Evans
Billy Crudup
Richard Armitage
Wes Bentley
Matthew Goode
Nicholaj Coster-Waldau
Joel Kinnaman
Liam McIntyre
Richard Madden

Eh, I'd deal with it:

Joe Manganiello
Jon Hamm
Karl Urban
Matt Bomer
Edgar Ramirez
Tyler Hoechlin
Garrett Hedlund
Zachary Quinto

Hate it:

Josh Brolin
Jim Caviezel
Jensen Ackles
Jeffrey Dean Morgan

Kill me now with a rusty saw dipped in anthrax:

Armie Hammer
Generic Grizzled War Veteran Guy from Pacific Rim
Scott Adkins
Gerard Butler
Quinto as Batman would be pretty weird.

Eh, I personally don't notice Jewish people having big noses any more often than any other group. Armitage's nose doesn't bother me at all though. Noses like Owen Wilson's, that look swollen or like they've been broken a couple of times are the only ones that bother me.

I personally haven't seen anything with Caviezel where he was "charismatic".

Same here. His age is the main factor against him IMO.

At this point, I'd love it if Armitage was cast.
