You're driving me nuts with this god bless you, your family and blah blah. At first it was like OK, i guess he's just a nice guy. But now it's just weird as all hell cuz you do it with every message. Maybe we're a-holes but we all find it weird as f**k!

I actually think this is one of the greatest Batman movies of all time. My second fav. behind Batman 89. It's not overrated. I think the 2nd Nolan film is overrated. Batman Begins is the superior of that trilogy IMO. When you have people who have never read the source material before say "yeah Batman heh heh. That's silly, oh but that recent movie with the Joker was badass." That is how you know something is overrated.

If anything MOTP has become underrated, imo.

Though I have come to appreciate BB more overtime it is still my least favorite of TDKT. TDK is where Nolan’s vision clicked with me. And is the superior movie of the trilogy, imo.

I can see how MOTP became underrated. Before TDKT, it was the go to Batfilm for many die hard fanboys.

I have seen similar thoughts from common joes in regards to the 90's Batman movies too. I guess they are overrated as well.

Every comic book film ever made is overrated. Because a common joe has made a stupid comment about the source material at some point.

Why stop at that? Every adaptation of some kind is overrated.

Supergirl (1984)
Captain America (1990)
Roger Corman's Fantastic Four
Steel starring Shaquille O' Neal
The Phantom (1996)

and I could go on, but yeah some people even fans are unaware some of these even exist.

Just watched it yesterday.... The viewing flew by.. "I didnt count of being happy.." is still powerful.

After spending the last few months watching dark knight returns, assault on arkham, batman vs Robin, under the red hood.... it is now brutally clear just how vastly superior MOTP is to all these other products..

It is so refreshing on so many levels... Bruce is a person.. everywhere else he is currently treated as a one note overly obsessed overly stoic person..

I wish somehow WB took the time to raise awareness for it and allow the uninitiated a chance to experience it....

If Mask of the Phantasm was turned live action verbatim it would easily be considered the best Batman film/product (for me it already might be)..

TDK remains my favourite, but indeed, MOTP is first class. Still the best animated movie.

I still hope we'll one day get a Blu-Ray release with commentary and some insight into the creation of MotP.

Watched the film on blu-ray. I feel, as far as drama goes, it's the second best Batman film after The Dark Knight for me.

Was the Blu-ray a very noticeable jump in quality?

I go backwards and forwards on this. Some days I'd rate MotP as my #1 Batman animation and Under the Red Hood as my #2, other days I'd swap them around
