Also, for the next movie tie in game, I don't think Beenox's hands will be nearly as tied as in ASM. The villains won't be cross species and Webb & Co have a much clearer picture of what villains they want to use in their movies that Beenox can't use (that is: Green Goblin only, I think). Because when making ASM, Webb & Co probably didn't know whether they should have Electro, Mysterio, Kraven, Doc Ock, Venom or Green Goblin etc. and therefore Beenox couldn't use either of them.

Eh theres prob a laundry list of villains that Beenox cant use and id wager its all the big names(Ocks, Goblins etc)

One of the biggest drawbacks to any licensed game is what you can and can't use. Its always tough to work around that.

One of the things im hoping for in the next ASM game is an environment that feels more like the movie-verse that Webb and Co. have created. I felt ASM was too detached from that. Like id love for Andrew Garfield to reprise his role as Parker and id love for the web shooter sounds to make it into the game.

Either way i cant wait to see where both the game and movie goes. I just finished my 2nd playthrough of ASM and was again reminded of how much i loved it. Beenox has a GREAT base going forward.

I still think the villains will be a problem. We'll prob get Electro if he ends up being in ASM2 but I wouldn't expect any other A-listers besides him. It will probably have a continuation of the story from the first game so we may get Felicia again. And while it may not have the whole 'cross-species' idea with the main bosses/villains I bet there will be a bunch of new B-list villains used. There may be some cool ones though like Mr. Negative or Spot but hopefully Beenox is able to make the boss fights a bit more interesting this time around. That's the key. I don't care if the villains are sub-par themselves but at least give us a good time while besting them.

Like Pat said, I really love ASM and they've got a great base to go forward. All the important gameplay elements have been established...close camera, free flow combat, web rush, etc. Now they have the time to spend to really enhance those features and improve upon them.

Other improvements imo should include:

More random crimes that actually occur randomly and are continuous even after beating the game.

Better side missions. The ones in ASM were ok but I'd like to see some that take you away from the main story and basically have nothing to do with it. IMO this would keep the story and the gameplay fresh and not so repetitive.

If Electro is in the game, they'll build everything up leading to him. Other villains may include could be Hydro-Man because he's recognizeable but not a big name like any of the Sinister Six members.

Beenox listens to fans, they might as well do it with what I suggest, and sell the idea to Activision

Quality Assurance team will have an easier job if they do that, and the product will possibly get less complaints

Then they'd better make improvements to their first movie tie-in

No news on the game yet, but this is definitely worth mentioning. Dee Brown, former studio head of Beenox, has resigned.

Oh, wow. I hope the reason for his resignation didn't have anything to do with the Spidey games or Activision. Last thing they need is conflicts with more developers.

NOOOOOO!

I really liked Dee Brown. I enjoyed every one of his interviews. He's also partly responsible for my fav Spidey game yet. Hope he finds success in whatever he chooses to do.

Yeah he seemed like a very nice guy! I wish him the best! I also wish Beenox the best and hope they can come up with something great even without him.

Shame. He was always so enthusiastic on the interviews, like he was really proud of what he was doing and happy to do it. I hope that whoever is in charge now feels the same as he did.

At least he trusts the guys taking his place, that's a glimmer of hope

I've always been a fan of stand alone Spider-man games as opposed to ones based off the movies. It seems like they can get a little more like the comics, and not have to adhere to a story line thats already there. Along with that comes classic bad guys, and not re-vamped editions to fit into the movie universe. While most of the Spider-Man games have been enjoyable, that special place in my heart still goes out to the first Activision Spider-Man game. It was so cool to finally play as Spidey in a 3d world takin on tons of classic foes the way they're meant to be.

Yea there are very strict guidelines as to what a dev team can and cant do when working with a movie license. Its a big reason why so many movie based games tend to suck. They have limited creative freedom, time and money.

I think that game has the most quotable lines in any Spider-Man game
