Not really. However, since the vast majority of respondents have answered "no", the reason its not even a question is because he doesn't need any such thing.

Really, I think people are underestimating how useful "ability to fly" is. Think about the Batman movies, and how much he exploits the ability to glide. Now imagine someone who can "glide" around a fair bit faster than that, with more maneuverability, and without needing a line gun to gain altitude.

Sure, he's no Thor, but he'd be at least as capable as the other elite SHIELD operatives.

There is just no practical purpose for mechanical wings in combat. And they would have to be enormous for a 200 lb man plus equipment to achieve flight, negating their usefulness as a stealth system. Im not saying they cant pull it off somehow, but I think they need to throw canon out the window and re imagine the character in a way that doesnt require acrobatic suspension of disbelief on the part of the audience.

Plus, you could say his "feathers" are made of some super-duper "unobtanium" alloy that defies normal physics and supports Falcon's weight during flight.

Just brainstorming here: you could still have a fairly faithful Falcon classic costume, by simply changing the white to black, and it would turn from cheesy disco to kick-ass in one fell swoop. I'm thinking the costume should wind up looking pretty close to Red Robin's winged look from Teen Titans here:

any kind of anti-grav, physics-defying tech makes the bird wings completely superfluous. obviously, whatever they settle on will require a certain amount of suspension of disbelief, but hopefully its more "grounded' than the 616/Ultimates version of the character. The casting of Mackie is a great first step.

If they do a completely faithful version of Falcon, and they pull it off, I will be happy to eat crow. My guess is they're gonna need to reinvent the character from the ground up in order to make him work in a live action, relatively realistic Cap movie. We shall see.
