I liked The Magnificent Seven but I agree that it had severely poor character development. Chris Pratt was basically just a weirdly racist Star-Lord. The Mexican outlaw character and the Native American guy barely had personalities. Peter Sarsgaard, Vincent D'oNofrio, Haley Bennett and Lee Byung-Hun were all good but underutilized. Denzel and Ethan Hawke were the only standouts. I do think the shootouts were really good but all in all, the movie just made me want to watch Silverado again.

Not terrible, but maybe my least favorite film with seven in the title
You don't even prefer it to "Six Days, Seven Nights"?

Why Him?

This is probably the first comedy I've seen where I didn't laugh once. I mean, not even a chuckle.

Kong: Skull Island.

It was TERRIBLE.

Only good thing about it was Reilly's line about the ants. Cardboard characters, terrible acting, bad CGI, poorly directed, bad writing all around. I was bored out of my mind. Easy pay check for Larson, Jackson, Hiddleston and Goodman. They were all wasted. Now i know why Keaton and J.K Simmons passed on this.

This makes me want to see Godzilla again. Which was a 2.5/5 for me, yet i had a better time watching that movie. Even Cranston was entertaining for the short period of time he was on screen. At least when Godzilla appeared it worked. Kong looks fine (every other creature and explosion looked like ass), but there was no originality. At least Peter Jackson's King Kong had some heart. Jesus..

0.5/5

The Assignment with Sigourney Weaver and Michelle Rodriguez, about a forced transgender procedure done on a hitman in retaliation for killing the doctor's brother...

Good gravy, I got maybe 10 minutes into Dog Eat Dog, if that. It was trying so hard to be a cult hit, but it failed horribly.

The only good thing is Cage doing a Humphrey Bogart impression at the end.

Puma man, but it was the MST3K episode, so I really enjoyed it.

I can't believe that movie was even made, especially today. Talk about some transphobic horsesh**.

and they will probably also appear on the best movie thread. As will lots of films here. Fascinating really.

People saying "Inception" or "Civil War" is a terrible movie probably means they haven't seen a lot of movies.

No, is not a matter of opinion. Is just that some people don't know the difference between "this is a terrible movie" and "I see it is a well done movie but I JUST DON'T LIKE IT" (which is fine!). I hate it when people don't see the merits of a movie just because they don't like it.

The Assignment was horrendous but as bad as I expected. Like the premise to one of those older action flicks.

My choices are "terrible movie" and "(faint praise) but I don't like it"...those are still most definitely a matter of opinion.
I can only assume you're oddly opposed to calling movies "terrible".

Here's the thing though; you don't get to decide each individual's definition of what makes a movie worth being called 'terrible' and what doesn't. If someone, for whatever reason, thinks The Revenant was terrible then they're completely entitled to think that way whether it's well made or not.

Victor Frankenstein, could have been much better, felt like they filmed the first draft. They lost me early on when Igor is revealed to be a sort of physician too. Hunchback, circus clown, physician lol.
