The cape is absolutely necessary and is a core part of the canon, going back to T'challa's first appearance.

I predict it will show up in some form, where least expected (fitting with T'challa's m.o.)

A hero relying on his agility having a cape. What can go wrong. And before anyone brings up Batman his cape is a weapon. Panther's is just a cape.

I really don't care for the cape especially the short version of it. Makes him look like a discounted batman

Don't mind him when is wearing it at his throne though

I don't care for him having a cape.

It does not fit with the current costume and I feel it would be hard for him to fight in it. Obviously that is not an issue in the comics, but this would be a real person moving around in the cape. T'Challa showed some of his fighting style and movement in Civil War. The cape would have gotten in the way.

Only reason they may bring a cape in is for a joke with him and Dr.Strange. I can see it now in IW, both standing next to each other and Strange asking, "So what does your cape do?"

Thor barely wore his mask at a ceremony and you think they're going to trouble themselves with Black Panther's cape? It's never been a permanent part of his costume and if the Cape does show up, like I said earlier it'll be for some sort if ceremonoal/formal event or we may see it as part of the costume of previous Panthers in a flashback or something.

Yeah definitely disagree with the cape being "absolutely necessary". He didn't need it in Cap 3...

But if only Monica Lynne were involved in this film but I am sure she most likely will be in the sequel provided there even is a sequel for Black Panther given the events of Infinity War

Even in the comics he rarely has the cape anymore. Some artists and writers have made it a point to not have him wearing it. T'Challa is supposed to look sleek and fast, a cape takes away from that.

They don't make these movies with stand alones in mind. The only reason Hulk is a stand alone is because of the rights issues. Ant-Man is getting a sequel...BP is definitely getting one, if it doesn't fail at the box office.

I think Marvel has learned that shoehorning in romantic subplots can at times weigh a film down unnecessarily. Most superheroes don't have a romantic interest at some point, but many of them aren't defined by their romantic exploits. T'Challa is a character that doesn't need those subplots because he already has so much on his plate.

If they're going to introduce Monica I want the them take their time with the romance in the same way they did in the Cap film. The whole "Love at first sight" thing is played out and ends up killing character development.

I see what you're saying and yeah for the T'Challa/Monica romance I would hope Marvel takes their time with it by building it up naturally too

After the whole Bruce/Natasha thing don't be surprised if they end up being liberal in choosing any female character fot T'Challa to have a romance with.
