We'll see. No xmen film has made over 500 million, so I am basing it off prior records. But I has no crystal ball, so DOFP may well do better

Really doubt that.

First Class didn't do all that great compared to TASM.

Haven't really seen anything which indicates them being hyped for one more than the other, seems about equal.

I'll gladly eat my words the day an X-Men movie does better than a Spider-Man movie. I just can't see it happening.

That's not a hit at X-Men movies or anything before anyone starts, I enjoyed First Class and I'm looking forward to DoFP.

I predict that TASM 2 will be the the winner at the box-office and critically among the SH films. So, I'm not worried at all.

I predicted just the opposite for the first movie, but it wasn't hard to guess considering the competition.

Yes, I'm glad he supports this new franchise. He is being a really good sport about it.

"I don't feel he was in my shadow at all. I think I handed the torch to Marc and I hear that he ran with it and succeeded and made a brilliant picture. I'm happy for him and all the team, and I only wish him the best and I salute them because it's a tough job, too, and obviously he's pleased the fans so I'm proud for him and I'm happy for my friends on the picture."

Not necessarily. The GA doesn't really know much about these films. I think its only fans like us that can say we are really excited for one or the other. Lets wait for some trailers and see which gets the most views on YouTube.

X-Men: First Class didn't attract many viewers in comparison to TASM, but we'll see. I think DOFP has a good chance of doing better critically, but not financially IMO. But you never know. I don't think it matters that much. As I said earlier, as long as the movies are good and make enough profit to warrant another film.

Just because a character is famous doesnt mean he will be received well, critics are not fan boys

I would be disappointed if any other Superhero movie ends up beating TASM2 at the box office in 2014,but critically? No

For all we know, DOFP can be another X-Men film with way too many characters, and a poorly written script. Actually, too many characters is a huge concern for me and this movie, but I'm hoping for the best.
I think X1 and X2 are really dull and boring movies, never liked them

I liked origins better

You're mad.

All this box office talk is a little ridiculously premature, don't you all think? We have no clue what this movie, let alone the other 2014. Personally, I'm far more intrigued by CA: TWS, since on the page it's a fantastic story with great character moments. TASM2 needs to seriously up it's ante, as well as correct some of the problems created in the first film, to get me waiting on the edge of my seat.

its possibly why we may be more then 1 villian to make a bigger scale movie, but it doesn't have to be like spider-man 3 in terms of too many villains, it just means 1 is the main and the others are obstacles

i know chances are many wouldn't be happy with certain villians being almost extended cameos but it may work well for story and doesn't mean they couldnt come back in a later film

What's with all this 'it seems the GA is more hyped for this film than that' stuff come from? What's the source?

I'm not saying it not possibly true. I have no idea of the GA's view. But how do some of you lovely folks know?

Well, IMO, TASM corrected the problems of the first film

I joke. But what 'serious' problems did the TASM have? Besides the villain plot, which I didn't think was bad at all, I thought the film was pretty darn good. IMO, a monster of a leap to the others.

Peter Parker being a bit of a douche and backing out of a promise he made to a dying man, for starters. Peter and Gwen have to be together--I get that. But that scene with Captain Stacy shouldn't have played out like that. If anything, Peter should have broken away from Gwen on his OWN accord. That's accepting power and responsibility.

I think the general audience will be more pumped for ASM 2 if you ask me..

One source could be rottentomatoes...their "" want to see"" stats beside the title shows how many people want to watch the movie.

Others can be just going around and asking people.

I would suggest the former.

it all depends how much hype is built up with posters and trailer and how good the trailers look that will be what opens folks eyes
