21 Jump Street was a lot funnier than Ted, IMO, but I still say the best comedy of 2012 was Pitch Perfect.

21 Jump Street benefited greatly from the pair of directors. They have a great sense of comedic timing. Some of the stuff in Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs was hilariously well made.

Chris Evans was a better Jonny Storm than Captain America.

Bullitt sucks. I'll take the worst Fast and the Furious movie over that "thrilling" car chase, too.

For it's time, I'm sure it was thrilling.

As far as I'm concerned, the whole Fast and the Furious franchise sucks.

That sounds kinda silly. No wonder I've never heard of it.

Plenty of movies from that time still hold up wonderfully. Hell, as old as the Wizard of Oz is, it's still enchanting to anyone who's just now seeing it.

A ten minute car chase with no music is testing me to hit stop and never go back to it though.

You could say that about a lot of people who post in here.

Not meaning to sound like a sourpuss or anything. But absolutely nothing that is continuously said about The Avengers, MCU as a whole, the Dark Knight Trilogy, Amazing Spider-man, or Man of Steel can really qualify as unpopular. They're so clearly divisive on these forums that bringing them up every single page is hardly worth it. There's enough supporters and haters on each side that there's no popularity to dispute.

We're not talking about unpopular opinions on these forums. Even, none of those movies are divided on these forums. It's more that the ones who hate it speak much louder.

The Avengers is the third highest grossing movie and a critically acclaimed movie as well being well-liked by audiences. Actually, all of the movies you mentioned are well-liked by audiences, if you go by RT audience ratings, IMDB, and cinemascore ratings.

Maybe I should have just said this thread. I've seen such division on every single one of those movies. At this point I feel like this thread is just a way to voice whichever side you're on. Which is fine....for the first 1200 pages.

Nobody means the uma Thurman movie. Not even uma Thurman means the uma Thurman movie.

I finally saw The Dark Knight Rises a second time. Don't know if it's an unpopular opinion or not, but I want to say that, when it comes about praising and attacking the film, I understand both sides. I really do.
I appreciate a lot of the things they tried to do with the character, and there are things, and ideas that are quite good. But there's a level of over-confidence -I don't know if from the writers or Nolan himself- that really hurt the movie. There's a level of realism they brought to the franchise, to the universe in which is set (lots of social and political comments, things about justice, criminals, etc etc) that at the end everything that happens during that film is just too unrealistic and unbelievable.
I was talking to my dad about it (he liked it), he said "come on, you like comic book movies, you're just nitpicking", and I don't see it that way. In The Avengers, for example, I play along. I know what I'm watching. Aliens, Gods, a green Hulk. It's all good.
But when a movie like TDKR tries to take things too seriously (and I appreciate that), but then they have an entire city dominated by a few people, during MONTHS, where no-one does anything, not even the government, the army, nothing happens, is very hard to 'buy' everything that surrounds such a stupid idea.
The whole concept around it is interesting. What Bane wants to do, and what Batman is all about. As simplistic as it sounds, it makes sense and it brings full circle to the franchise, about what the whole thing is about. The symbol idea. But the execution is silly, convoluted, with no sense of real consequences, and it ends up falling under it's own weight of self-confidence.
So when I say I understand both sides, is because I acknowledge the concept behind the movie, but the way is presented is just frustrating. With too many plot holes (yes, I know what plot holes are), too many wtf moments, and things that were already used in the previous movie. Not to mention the short amount of screen time to Batman, and the lack of things for him to do, other than trying to punch someone; but that's another subject.
I hope I'm not ofending anyone, I'm not trying to bring yet another Nolanites vs Whatever in here, I'm just writing my honest opinion about a movie I wanted to like, but I just can't, and I've been trying for a while to figure out why. After watching it tonight again, I can understand why I didn't like it. And this post is about exactly that.

That's not what I was criticizing.... at this point in the thread nothing about those movies is particularly unpopular (MOS,ASM, and IM3 mostly). Both sides have weighed in to the point that there is no real consensus on its overall quality. It's just whatever side of the fence you're against that seems to be the popular opinion when you weigh in. SpiderCool is just one of many (cut off his head others will take his place ) I guess I don't understand why some are trying to slam a revolving door.

I don't think you understand, though. Few people think that the disliking any of those movies is an popular opinion. This is not just about this thread, or about these forums, but opinions in terms of the movie going public.

Haha no one's cutting your head off.

Me and Mario are having a nice discussion on whether or not some movies are popular or not.
