Attention people, this is not the summer movie review thread, or the "Films that I recently watched" thread, so get back to Henry Cavill, or go to the relevant forum to discuss your favourite, or not-so-favourite films.

Thanks.

Yes I hear he's to have a gastric band fitted to get rid of the enormous arse.
Oops maybe I actually heard he's going to buy a decent pair of slacks.

You know what? The length of the cape initially sort of bothered me as well, but I recently had a change of heart. Why? Well, I caught a little bit of Snyder's 300 today on TNT, and one of the things I immediately noticed was that King Leonidas and his army were all adorned with really long red capes -- similar to that of Cavill's Superman. And here's the thing: They all looked regal and imposing at the same time -- not even the slightest bit cheesy. Another upside to a really long cape is that it makes Cavill look even taller (and he's already quite tall to begin with at 6'1 or 6'2). So yeah.. I'm sold on the cape now.

i agree. Cavill does come across as a bit of a short ass.

he's not as tall as either Routh or Reeve.

they may to have to use cgi to remove traces of his rear, which seems to be bigger than amy adam's.

Deborah Snyder is happy though, she loves feeling the meat.

Cavill may not be as tall as Reeve or Routh, but he's far from short at 6'1. The guy is well above average.

I wonder with these CGI horror body grey beige motion capture Avatar suits, which visual effects company will be doing this special effects work on this film? Is it Weta? ILM? Digital Domain?

I hope the epic Sony Dreamworks are back again especially after their marvelous CG work on Superman Returns where Routh's CGI double looked almost as good as the pre-viz to King Kong...

From Supermanhomepage.com....

We can't touch on the cape without talking about whether or not it has an "S" shield on it, and if it does, how big is it? What color is it? Below are another group of examples from various incarnations.
Much has been made of the fact that the "Superman Returns" costume doesn't have an "S" on the cape. The fact is that this hasn't always been a feature of the costume. As you can see below, there was no "S" on the cape in the original comics drawn by Joe Shuster, nor in the Fleischer Superman cartoons, nor in "Superman: The Animated Series", and not in "Justice League" or "Justice League Unlimited" cartoons.

In the versions where the "S" is used on the cape, it's not always consistant. When the "S" was first introduced on the cape (by artist Paul Cassidy in Action Comics #13) it was only in occasional panels. In other comics of the time, Joe Shuster and Wayne Boring never drew it on the cape.

In the 1950s "Adventures of Superman" TV Series, the costume worn by George Reeves had an "S" on the cape, but the "S" was red and yellow like the one on the front of the costume. Kirk Alyn had the same thing before him (in the Superman Serials).

When it is on the cape, the "S" is most commonly seen as a fully yellow "S" shield, with black outlines. A notable difference is the cape seen in the TV series "Lois & Clark". Dean Cain's costume had a fully yellow "S", but no black outlines. Interestingly, the "S" seen on the cape shown in the opening credits of "Lois & Clark" had a yellow and red "S". In the mid-1990s, a promotional photo of Teri Hatcher wrapped in this cape (with the red and yellow "S") was one of the most downloaded internet images.
