Which of the Big Three do you think should get their fourquel? If RDJ and the Chrises are unavailable, would you prefer that's a recast or a mantle passing?

And why do you feel that way?

Please vote. This is data for the hivemind.

Eh, I think they should leave the stand-alones (and GOTG) at 3 each and let Avengers be the one really ongoing series of the bunch - just change/refresh the team's roster as needed. Helps prevent characters from overstaying their welcome, and by having characters leave/retire/age/die I think it's nice way of acknowledging that nothing lasts forever, even for superheroes.

Chris Hemsworth actually wants to do one. I'd be thrilled if it used Amora the Enchantress, and Natalie Portman going on a date with Hercules.
Or they could adapt The Eternals Saga from Thor #29X to get the Celestials off Earth in The Eternals flops.

Yeah, I feel like plenty of people agree with you. Just curious, of those who remain, who deserves the fourth installment most?

Iron Man? Because he has yet to resolve his obsessive futurism and feelings of responsibility for the world's safety. The Mandarin is still at large.

Captain America? Because he is a fugitive, on the run from the Allied powers that gave him his powers, his name and claim to fame? Zemo and Red Skull are still alive.

Thor? Because Asgard exploded and Surtur is to blame. Because Loki is probably still mischieving somewhere and we still havent seen Amora.

No matter what I think each deserves a sequel, but for me, Thor seems like the only one who will get a real resolution. Tony's obsession defines him. Pushing away his love and destroying his life for it seem like just the Tony Stark thing to do. Have a drink, Tony. Cap's obsession also defines him, and Cap doesn't need validation so who knows if he'll ever get it. Let alone before Marvel offs him. Thor on the other hand, feels like he's going through a hell of an arc. I'd like to see him meet his physical match in Surtur and his mental/emotional one in Amora. Mandarin and Zemo can show up in Iron Heart and Thunderbolts films.

If I felt that way, I'd probably also say Thor, if for no other reason but the fact that his adventures would be the easiest to continue from where we're at right now.

I can see Tony emerging from Avengers 4 with the realization that all of his own obsessiveness has made him practically a mirror image of Thanos, and it might finally be just enough to compel him to REALLY step back and have faith in letting someone else do the job (which could also provide a neat little next step for the whole mentor-figure bit he has going on with Spidey) - in any event, Downey being the rock star of the franchise, I can't see him dying or being otherwise saddled with that unhappy a resolution. I would, however, be surprised if Steve lives to see the end credits; any meaningful victory the remaining team's going to have against Thanos HAS to come with a high price no matter what, I feel, and I think aside from it being completely in-character, sacrificing himself for the greater good will earn him exoneration (even if only in the court of public opinion...I can see Thaddeus Ross remaining an ^$$ about it, anyway).

I'm trying to figure out where something like Thor 4 would even fit.

2020: GotG3/Black Widow/Dr Strange 2
2021: Black Panther 2/Spider-Man Graduation/Eternals
2022: finish Ant-Man trilogy. New franchise. Thor 4 instead of Captain Marvel 2 or Avengers 5? I can see Disney wanting a four-year gap between Avengers 4 & 5 to figure out how to juggle budget vs. viewer expectations of scale, but CM will get her sequel this year for sure if the first makes more money than Dr Strange, and maybe even if she doesn't (Ant-Man didn't have to wait four years).
2023: Fantastic 4. Spider-Man 4. Avengers 5.

Definitely Thor. It took the longest out of the three for him to hit his stride, Ragnorak ended with enough room for another film, and there are still quite few directions that they can take the character in.

For the most part, I feel that IM3 and CW worked as culminations of these iterations of Iron Man's and Cap's solo stories. Even though I would love to see an IM4 for the sake of seeing the real Mandarin.

I'm pretty sure that the February 2022 film will be Black Panther 2, so that would leave room for the third 2021 film to be something else.

Thor easily, he finally hit his stride in the MCU within the last year with Ragnarok and Infinity War.

I think Disney would be VERY upset with Ryan Coogler if he took four years to make a sequel to a film that made more money for them than The Last Jedi.

Tony's gotten stagnant and more than enough exposure. Whatever progression that seemed interesting in Civil War didn't register in his later appearances. He's probably going to be the one to build the academy or keep pulling this legacy card, but no way would I want that to be a subtitle of a fourth installment.

Thor is finally something, but they cornered him into the crummiest situation of any character just to develop an interesting personality. He's quite literally got no one left pre-snap.

So, that leaves Cap. As long as SHIELD or some other military arm is a thing, those other villains can cameo just fine.

I'll go with Thor as my first choice because it would likely be great fun - although he needs another hero as a sidekick, kind of like Hulk was in Ragnarok. There are still a heap of great Thor stories to explore - even the Jane Foster Goddess of Thunder would be entertaining.

If Cap survives the Infinity war sequel there's a lot of potential for more - even if he passes the mantle to Sam or Bucky, as I thought that Evans was done with Cap.

I feel like Tony works best in group or team up films as both IM 2 and 3 were big disappointments for me compared to the first film.

Hercules. They fight because Thor finds Hercules out on a date with Jane.
(That's a Kirby/Lee comic.)

None of them. If we do get one, Captain America with Bucky. But I kind of think it’s done for all of them after A4.

My predictions...

Thor: Gets a fourquel that's really just a twoquel to Ragnarok, which was basically the start of a new series, so I could see Thor getting a fivequel as well to complete a "Ragnarok Trilogy".

Cap: Dies in IW, Bucky becomes the new Cap and gets his own trilogy of movies (or maybe just shows up as team leader in Avengers movies, if the schedule is too full).

IM: Survives IW but retires from being an active hero, no longer has his own movies but shows up in other heroes movies from time to time. Spider-man effectively takes his place as the poster boy of the MCU.

I'd stick to the Feige game plan of 3 and done. However if Taika is interested, secure that man's services for another franchise. The Eternals.. Maybe. He's too talented for one and done.
Overall, there's just too many characters, universe has become too expansive, characters that still need prioritization etc., to give any character an additional movie regardless of its success. It's what made the Mcu a success. They got the game plan and they've stuck with it.

Yeah, this makes sense to me as well (except my guess is Falcon takes over as Cap and Bucky keeps being his own thing).

They can't write out all of the Big Three at once, Hemsworth's up for doing more films and even though we've had six films with Thor they've only started to really do the character justice with the last two so (to the surprise of no-one) Thor's my choice for another sequel.

Personally I'd love to see another Taika Watiti directed cosmic road trip with Thor searching for the Asgardian refugees and have a loose adaptation of the God Butcher comics. In terms of supporting cast they can bring back Valkyrie, Korg, bring in another hero like they did with Hulk and maybe introduce Baldur, Karnilla, Amora etc.
I'd also love to see the World Serpent, the Celestials or see Thor take a trip to Hel/Valhalla so we can see Odin/Loki/Heimdall/Hela again and maybe get that moment from Thor #7 (vol 3) where they fight Surtur together to stop him coming back to life.

100% Thor. Like others have said, both the IM and Cap movies hit their stride earlier than Thor's did, and after the huge success of Ragnarok in reinventing the Thor franchise, not to mention Thor's subsequent popularity rise because of Ragnarok and IW, it seems like a shame to not give him another solo. There are so many areas of the Thor-verse that haven't even been touched on yet, so much scope for more. Bring back Hela, Valkyrie and Korg!

Thing is though is that Coogler is planning on doing another movie first and Feige has said that they're happy waiting for him.

If you're right that he's happily waiting four years, I'd like to be a fly on the wall when Feige's bosses talk to him about Black Panther.

Honestly? Cap, as his is the only franchise with more than one good movie in its trilogy (although Civil War is as much an Iron Man movie in some respects).

But who will get? That's easy: Thor. Hemsworth wants to do more, Evans doesn't, and Downey probably doesn't but he likes all that money.
