But he looks nothing like Gambit. And no, it has nothing to do with him being ugly, he just doesn't have the features. |

I don't really care about the height issues anymore. The current cast is so different from the books/show that it's not of any consequence now. I dont even like Gambit, but I'd still pull for Seth Gabel (Nip/Tuck's Adrian Moore), just because he can be demonic and cuddly.

Desmond harrington definatly looks a lot like gambit if he can act then it would be great
stephen dwarf is an awesome pick i think he could definatly pull it off .........and as far as the romance factor gambit is suppose to be older and stephen doesnt look really old so it would work i think. so theres my two cents about it |

he's too bulky. IMHO
you know what... forget what I said! I used to be obsessed with the age issue, and the height issue, and good-looks issue but not anymore. I just want him to be in the damn movie for 5 damn seconds! DAMNIT!

I thought, for a younger Gambit, to Hayden Christensen, he's talented, when you'll see Revenge of the Sith (star wars episode 3), you'll understand why. and he often plays characters who are tortured (mentally). and Gambit is like this.

But neither of the two look like Gambit.
Although I agree, they are both extremely talented. |

Here is the guy who looks like the perfect fit for Gambit if your going for the pretty boy type. Charlie O'Connell (Jerry O' Connell's brother). Not sure if he has the acting chops or can pull off the accent but he certainly has the look.

I think Josh Holloway would be great for the part. He plays Sawyer on the Tv Show "Lost" on ABC. I am a big x-men fan, and im kinda picky when it comes to whos cast for it and i think so far theyve done great but gambit isnt an easy character to cast. So that is my choice for Gambit. Does anybody have anyone else in mind? Here is the link to the website.
http://abc.go.com/primetime/lost/bio..._holloway.html. In my opinion he's a very good actor and he has an accent on the show not Gambits exact accent but I'm sure he has the ability. Last edited by x1rogue1x; 01-03-2005 at 12:41 PM. |

Kyle Lowder or Daniel Goddard! They are perfect for the role whether they decide to go mid twenties or a little older! ~RogueyStars2004~

Holloway isn't possible. They would have to cut and color his hair which he wouldn't be allowed to do due to his contract with "Lost". Sawyer can't show up with firey brown hair all of a sudden.
Not to mention he's the worst actor on the show next to the dog. And I don't think he knows any martial arts, something you REALLY want for who plays him. |

Olivier Martinez.
also, i see where the person who said Vincent Cassel was coming from, and thought the same thing. Cassel was recently in a movie called Renegade, which is loosely adapted from the French comic Blueberry. He plays a cajun raised by indians. kinda neat movie. thing is, he is kinda weird looking. but besides that, he'd be PERFECT. if they can make Wolverine a mildly gruff 6'4" GQ model, why can't they make Gambit a little ugly?

it isn't my opinion that hugh jackman was the perfect Wolverine.
do a search of my posts, and you'll likely find that a good 20 percent of them are about hugh jackman not being right for Wolverine. not even close. My last sentence was sarcasm, hence the smiley. not even close. i'll tell you what, though: Vincent Cassel is a lot closer to being Gambit than Hugh Jackman will ever be to being Wolverine. As for him being old enough to be Rogue's father, that's because they got Rogue's age wrong, trying to turn her into Kitty Pryde/Jubilee. Vincent Cassel is very close to Gambit in terms of attitude, demeanor, body build, etc. He just falls short in the looks department. I was giving an earlier poster props for thinking outside the box, instead of "DORFF DORFF COLIN FARRELL DORFF!!!111!!!". My top choice remains Olivier Martinez, and i'm one of the first on this board to recommend him, if not the first. I just liked the fact that someone was thinking of Gambit's actual character traits, instead of his look. |

I mean in the comics it was pretty much a succession of young girl token character replacements. First Jean, then Kitty, then Rogue, then Jubilee. They got her age right just not the actress. She shouldn't be a short frumpy girl who's always a damsel in distress. |

they got her age wrong in relation to the other characters, is what i'm saying.
i'm not talking about what actually happened in continuity, because that's obviously out the window as far as the films are concerned. continuity serves as a basic template at best for the films. jean's close to 40 in the movie. storm is in her mid-thirties. nightcrawler is significantly older than rogue, and they were practically the same age in the books, IIRC. they've changed the whole dynamic of the characters, so i'd be suprised if the Gambit/Rogue thing happens. I'd rather have a well portrayed Gambit, even if he is much older than Rogue. Since when is it impossible for a 30 something guy to date a 20-22 year old chick, anyway? Especially in a movie? most of the time, the male lead in a movie is a good ten years older than the female love interest. anyway, i would've loved to have seen Katie Holmes as Rogue. |

Shane West or Jake Gyllenhaal are the best choices for a young gambit and this pictures prove it. Ian and Michael Vartan are good but i like these guys.

Shane west is a good choice, plus gambit has to be in his mid-twenties,there's no way they're bother to bring him in if they aren't going to do the whole attraction with rogue-cause if he is in x-3(and i'm crossing my fingers he is) frankly that would probably be his storyline or a big part of it.At the same time providing a storyline for rogue and bobby, other than them being on the team, which is pretty much what they did with rogue in the last movie, and to get anna back on board they'll have to give her something to do.With time restrictions and all the caracters she can't do the whole rogue getting her powers in a fight with miss marvel thing cause it wouldn't work,so the rogue/gambit/bobby triangle would be the perfect storyline choice.

I'm still sticking to my pick Josh Holloway. He is not the worst actor on the show. I guess everyone has there opinions. If they did dye his hair brown whos to say they couldnt dye it back for lost (GENIUS) But since when our you a casting director none of us really have control over who is picked for any of the characters we are all just stating our opinions. Wolverine to me was a pretty good pick. Rogue on the other hand is not the greatest pick but shes a great actress and theyve been cast for the past 4 years now. If all these people disagree so much which who theyve cast as the X-Men then why even bother watching the movies.
