I would have to say the Frieza saga was the best mostly because it was so long and the it was more about every body reaching new levels insted of it just being the Goku show!!!

You guys totally missed the Buu saga. I mean COME ON!! nothing beats SS3 power and fusion!
Lets look at it this way:
Saiyan Saga: gets it's due for being the first DBZ saga, but horribly drawn

Namek saga and Captain Ginyu saga: all they did basically was look for the dragonballs

Frieza saga: repetitive fighting clips and WAY TOO MUCH TALKING, not to mention the whole friggin thing was like 20 hours long!

Garlic Jr Saga: completely BORING. Just took up space.

Androids saga: Introduced Trunks, my fav character, but also had some bad drawing in it as well

Cell saga: introduces the Hyperbolic Time Chamber ans Super Saiyan 2 Gohanretty cool from the start, but the whole cell game theory was a big joke.

Buu Saga:the best I have ever seen. Introduces Fusion, Super Saiyan 3, Buu, and Goten. Provided plenty of fighting as well as some humor through Gotenks. Not to mention the HUGE human Genki-Dama at the end that destroyed Buu. Great way to end a show!

Bah the freiza saga and especially the Cell saga blows the **** out of the Buu saga. Though the final fight between Goku and Kid Buu did make me **** my pants at its greatness

No way! Everything AFTER the Cell Saga was basically reaching a climax to the last battle, like you said, so everything leading up to that battle just got better and better

The cell saga had Piccollo vs 17, Goku vs Cell, USSJ trunks, Gohan turning SSJ2. It had it all!!!!

True cell had it all but Buu had a lot as well.....SSJ3, Fusion (two kinds), Mystic Gohan, etc. ( it isn't a perfect saga but i think it was good none the less)

Piccolo vz 17 was absolutely BORING. I personally dont want to see two minor characters go at it.

Goku vs Cell wasnt too popular to me because parts of it was poorly drawn

USSJ Trunks was overdone. I like Truks and all, but I dont want a character who looks like he OD'd on steroids.

Super Saiyan 2 Gohan was pretty cool, but why not take it up another notch? lets go to Super Saiyan 3! Now you got the hair that with one swipe could take off a man's head with all those spikes.

Piccolo isn't a minor character especially after joining with Kami. He was now back up there with Goku and the gang in strength. 17 had to be there for the perfection of cell which made him a big part. SSJ3 is cool but that would have been way too soon and way too big of a jump to go 3 in that saga.

What I MEANT to say is that Piccolo became a minor-major character. He was more important in Bragonball because he was a villain. Dragonball Z is based more upon The lives of Goku and his family.

Besides I hate Piccolo anyways...

oh god i TOTALLY agree with you on that. when I saw that, I thought they mistook it for part of the series. I actually thought it was more of a movie sequel to Dead Zone

My favorite Saga would have to be the Frieza Saga.

Close runner up being the Cell Saga.

Cell and Frieza were just awesome villains.

I liked Super Buu, but the Buu saga as a whole was just not as good in quality. (SSJ3 looks kinda stupid in my opinion, but whatever)

Piccolo vs. 17 was just badass, very badass.

Piccolo because a minor character in GT, and still held a role in the Buu saga.

He was very major until the end of Cell. I'm disappointed he was handled so poorly during and after Buu. I get tired of "saiyan saiyan saiyan", Piccolo was always a nice breather for me, knowing the guy kicking the **** ouf of the villain, was not a monkey.

Piccolo vs. 2nd Form Frieza Rocked

Piccolo vs. 17, also rocked.

My favorite Battle in DBZ would probably be Piccolo vs. Cooler's team. Movies don't count however, lol.

But yes, best saga, definately Frieza Saga, best storyline of the sagas. Cell came close, and I love Cell, but he's just not the same.

I agree. Buu saga is very mediocre in comparison to the rest of DBZ. Especially just before Buu absorbs Gotenks SSJ3.

Now lets see... The whole panel is wrong, I think. I think that Freeza saga was one saga all along, one unique story - from episode one to to 90something. Freeza may not be mentioned, but like Cell, makes his appearence forward afterwards, and all the better for it.

So, its Freeza saga, Garlic Jr. saga, Android/Cell saga, and Buu saga.

From worst to best:

4)Buu saga - This has got to be Toriyama's worst. Not completely stupid or unwatchable, not by any means - GT gets the credit for that. The beggining of this thing is very nice, promising. It has an eerie feeling with Kaioshin, Kibito and Babidi and the mystery of Buu. Up until Vegeta died, it was perfectly fine - it rocked. Suffering, though, from DBZ (essentially, Toryiama's) own divulgance into the Super Saiya-jin thing and going too far beyond established ultimate power (which was supposed to have been Freeza, originally), but that was to be expected, I guess. Anyway, suffering from that over the topness, some good drama came out - Vegeta's character finally came full circle, and his noble sacrifice was better than anyone could ask for. Gohan finally achieves his full hidden power and becomes, by Buu saga's end, the strongest person in the universe. Dragonball's kid friendly elements kind of return with Goten and Trunks, who provide some fun time. Kuririn and 18 end up together, and Satan finally proves his usefulnes as the "World Champion". And some of the series' most famous actions scenes are here - in fact, three of my favorite battles are here. Majin Vegeta vs. Goku, Mystic Gohan vs. Buu (not Super Buu, before Gotenks), and Goku SSJ3 vs. Kid Buu. BUT, and thats a big but... For all its goods, its very apparent that DBZ has jumped the shark, quite a bit. Some of the most ridiculous story decisions are also made to make way for more ridiculusnes, and pointlessnes alltogether. For example, the saga was perfectly fine up until Buu left his fight with Gohan and an hour later absorbed Gotenks SSJ3 and Piccolo to become stronger. From that point, I tell you, the series lost it. I mean, Goku came back to life, Vegeta returned as a dead man and fused with Goku, the two then entered Buu's body, rescued the others, and then, they left the others die so they could save themselves from Earth's destruction by Buu, then all led to were Goky won against Buu with a giant Genki Dama. If one has seen Buu saga thoroughly, you can see the rushness - Toriyama decided to bring back Goku very late in the process and that shows. I understand that Gohan was supposed to have been the one to put Buu away, and all things pointed there, too. And that makes the story very twisted, in a bad way. Plus, some of the characters really annoy - ie, Goku, who I always liked, by the time he comes back to life, acts like a complete and utter jerk, all the time. Neither Yamcha nor Kuririn serve any purpose, and thats sad, really. And most of all, the villain, Buu, is quite bland and one-dimensional. I like that at first he's unlike anyone's expecting - its a great twist. But from the moment he turns muscular, he's just plain "I'll kill you!". No depth, no nothing. Back on the story as a whole, there are ways it could've been resolved as it did, but still NOT feel as rushed out as it did. For this reason, this lack of scope and overal, because the story just wasn't as good as the other sagas, Buu is the worst of DBZ. There are still good things about it-really, there are, as pointed out. But as a whole, Buu saga is very uneven... For one thing, you don't fele you're watching DB, but rather, the "Super Saiya-jin Show".

3)Garlic Jr. - Surpised, surprised?! I know it ain't a pick, it ain't even taken seriously, and most of all, it ain't Toriyama pened. But I like for several reasosn - One, no Goku. Otherwise it'd have been ridiculusly predictable. Second, side characters like Kami, Piccolo, Kuririn, Karin and Mr. Popo had a significant appearence in the story, and weren't just to say "oh, things have gone way past us now!" like they repeatedly do in Buu saga. And Gohan is actually doing something - he's struggling to have a life outside reading, and on the battle, he has to figure out Piccolo and Kuririn's plans. And Garlic Jr. himself is a bit more interesting a villain than Buu, simply because he ain't just a cardboard character. He has an actual goal that goes beyond just death and destruction. He's more akin to Freeza and the original Vegeta then either Cell or Buu. I understand why people don't like it-its contradicting, a little, with the canon, since it follows a movie when it shouldn't. But I like it more than Buu. Maybe because it took a liberty of having Gohan save the world, based on his anger and hidden power. Of course, the whole ridiculus Marron story brought the saga down - a real bimbo! While drawn as hot, she was really annoying, most of the time. And the story as is is just a retread from the first DBZ movie, "Dead Zone", but with no Goku around. And the fact that Garlic Jr. somehow rose to Piccolo/Freeza's power level (on his second form, is just plain silly. I like it, just a bit more than Buu. Its a nice break between Freeza and Buu.

2) Freeza saga - The series' undeniable best. The story that Toriyama actually originally intended on ending the DB series, for ever. Its also the most mature DB has ever been. So much character development, its astonishing. Revelation of Goku's origins, and afterwards Piccolo's (And subsequently, Dragonball's origin too), Piccolo's change, Goku's maturity, Gohan and his abrupt upbringing, all that and more... Most of all, as mentioned, Dragonball's greatest villain, Freeza... Just perfect. The ultimate villain. No Cell or Buu ever graced the character's depth. He was the ultimate tyrant, and he showed it when demanded. The most rightly feared villain, and actually the last "natural" villain. I say this, because both Buu and Cell have been created-one way or another. So in that sense, Freeza is his own man - a self made man. I can;t go because I'll tire if I haven't already. Anywho, this is the time when SSJ meant something, and the saga's climactic conclusion is staggering. And the last time the Dragonballs were an integral part of the story. Its really the end of DBZ.

1) Cell Saga - Freeza saga may be DBZ's best, but Cell saga is my favorite by a very close margin. Reason for this, is the storyline. I really love the storyline with the androids so much, I can't describe it. Also, my favorite DBZ character, Future Trunks, really makes the show what it is. Again, liberties are taken here, and yet, even if it wasn't originally conceived as such, Toriyama found a brilliant way to continue the seemingly concluding Freeza saga with this, but tieing the new villains way back to DB and the infamous Red Ribbon saga. Also, character development once again - SSJ for everyone, Piccolo finally merging with his father's other half, Dende coming over to Earth, Gohan's maturity and also Goku's, and finally, Goku's death. I think that, while his death with Raditz was heroic, I believe this one had an emotional weight never before seen in the series. Plus, the story's so compelling... I just love time-travel stories, you know. No matter how they can always be unbelievable, if handled well, like in here, they can fascianating! Thats the reason that I love this. And because everyone seems to have a fair chance against Cell. Cell's cool, BTW. No Freeza, but cool nonetheless. Still better than Buu and Garlic. Jr.

Well, thats my randown for DBZ. I've left out a whole lot of stuff out of my thoughts, but I fear I've tired you.

Sorry if I did.

What do you think, nonetheless?
