that was a long-ass recap. What was that, about the 17th time we've seen acevade getting mouth raped?

Great episode, especially the end. The whole "Justice League Moment" with the Strike Team was a little corny, but it worked because it was good to see them all get along again. Still, I think Army is going to (unintentionally) f**k them all over. I don't think he's smart enough to pass the polygraph. Nevertheless, they'll find a way out of it. I'm just really happy that the Strike Team is back, because they're devotion to each other is really the heart of the show.
The Acevada subplot in this episode was also very well done... it made me hate him a little bit less. I hope we see more of the blonde hooker... I actually really like her character. Plus she's a hottie. But does anyone else think she looks a LOT like Danni? Are the two actresses related or something? |

You ever notice how they spend most of their time trying to avoid getting caught for their illegal and unethical deeds? I swear, sometimes it seems like a high school show where kids try to cover up what they did and not get caught by the principal. You have to wonder if it would really be worth the stress, being cops as dirty as they are. I can understand Mackey's motivation at this point in time, now that he knows he has one and maybe two autistic kids, but that wasn't the case at the very beginning of the season. Shane also has a kid to provide for, which was a stupid decision to make, especially with that ***** he's now married to. Why didn't it occur to Lemanski and Ronnie that there's barely anything in it for them to stay on this course but the pleasure of the company of a sociopath and a his redneck protege?
Anyway, great show. Very disturbing, very well written.

The advantage is they also get lots and lots of money from it all. They aren't nearly as poor as they could be. Being dirty is hard, yeah, but I think it has it's perks.

Well, there are always those reasons, but I think what this episode showed was that they do what they do because they care about each other. As pissed off as Lem might get at Shane, he summed it up best in an episode last season (the one where he burned the money) where he called them the only family he has.

wow, things actually got so bad for the strike team they resorted to (relative) honesty
![]() I wonder if Lem's still dating that girl he hooked up with in season 1? I appreciated the fact that they did show seperate love lives as sub plots for him and Dutch. Dutch's girl didn't get mentioned for two seasons, but at least they followed up with it when claudette asked him about it and he admitted they'd been broken up for a little while

I learned in a law enforcement class that they classify corrupt cops (as indivuals, not in terms of the entire department) into two categories: "grass eaters" and "meat eaters." "Grass eaters" take advantage of opportunities for corruption when they arise, and don't plan their day around being a dirty cop. "Meat eaters" proactively seek out opportunities for corruption and plan their day around them. Vic Mackey is the biggest "meater eater" I can imagine actually existing in a police department in a big city like L.A. Mackey actually convinces me that he's a man of principles and loyalty at times (and he is, in his own selfish and corrupt way). He's such a great sociopath, and Michael Chiklis is a phenomenal actor. I liked him on "The Commish," and I love him on "The Shield," even though he plays such a repulsive and hypocritical criminal. Vic is the least of what disturbs me about this show, so I'm always more at ease when he's working his sleazy magic.

I believe that Vic DOES have his set of morals, and he really wants to keep the bad guys down...
...but he's willing to go as far as he needs to do so, as well as do what he has to to take care of himself and his own. I think that's what makes him an interesting character, to me.

I don't think Shane knows how far Mackey will go. He knows that Mackey will kill, but I don't think that Shane realizes that Mackey has targetted him as the ultimate fall guy once Mackey has decided to retire. I'm really pissed that I don't get to watch this show anymore and have to remember the show from two years ago. |

Do you mean that Shane is supposed to inherit all of Vic's connections and ongoing criminal enterprises, and since Shane isn't as smart as Vic, he'll probably get caught once Vic is no longer holding his hand and keeping him out of trouble? I think I've seen every episode, but I might have missed a detail or two, so please elaborate. Why don't you get to watch the show anymore?

Vic and Shane are best friends, through thick and thin. They may get into ****, but in the end, they're friends. Remember when Vic got shot? What was it...2x03? Partners? When Shane visited him at the hospital, in his morphine induced high, Vic was like "Dude, Shane, when we retire we're gonna play golf every day." Seems to me Vic DOES have plans for Shane...but they involve a nine iron and the green.
