I think Jim Caviezel is perfect for this role, but I would welcome Bale in the role as he is my second choice and I think either one of those guys would be perfect for this role.

Look i'm pretty sure everyone wants Christian Bale more than any actor to become the next Batman he has the making of being the best of them all.

Also i dont think it is a stupid idea if Warner Bros make more than one BATMAN movie with more than one actor i was thinking something like this.

Christian Bale -either Batman year 1 or Batman vs Superman or even both.

Michael Keaton-The Dark Knight Comic series along with Burton

George Clooney- I know he was really crap in the last one but he has two or three more batman movies to do, i cotuine for batman and robin, with Bruce Timm in charge he will bring justice back.

Colin Farrel- No Mans Land series.

But yeah Christian Bale is the one and only in my mind

Christian Bale would make the best Batman ever. He is also rumoured to possibly be either, James Bond, Dracula and Robin Hood. Personally I think that he would play all these characters
better than anyone else (except maybe Pierce Brosnan).

Thumbs up

Bale would make a great Batman, just look at "American Psycho".
I would not mind seeing Farrell in the role either.

BTW- Pierce Brosnan is the second best Bond (behind Sean Connery, of course). But if Brosnan is set on leaving (which I am not happy about), I think Bale would be the third best Bond (at least the fourth behind Roger Moore).

I don't know how we started talking about bond , but yes , either Christian Bale or Clive Owen should be the new bond. On the Batman front , it's either Bale or Joaquin Phoenix for me.

People BALE and KEATON ARE BATMAN! End of Story, Colin Farrell is too cool to play Bruce Wayne, honestly, I just dont think he's THAT GOOD of an actor to pull it off. Matt Damon is a good idea, but he's not dark enough for the part. I just can't wait to see Bale as Batman, and they made the perfect choice so it doesnt matter anymore.

I say let George Clooney carry on with being Batman. He had a poor script in B&R - let's see what he can do with a better script and different director..........

Was that really worth bringing up a thread from two years ago? Alot of the people in this thread probably don't even post anymore.

The Fox brought this thread back, I think. He was just responding to the now deleted Fox message.

I have alot of confidence in Christian Bale for the part of Batman. I haven't seen all of his work but have liked what I have seen. Reign of Fire and Equilibrium, which many dismissed as a matrix clone, and while it is influenced by it , what isnt these days? Equilibreum was a good movie in my eyes, it had big effects but still felt like a personal character driven movie to me and Bale was the best part about it. That was the first time i saw a complete movie with him in it. Not only did he display great physical prowess and look very natural in the action scenes, but had emotional depth. I believe his best role has yet to come, and I also believe that role will be Batman. He even went as far as to say he will dedicate his performance in Batman Begins to his father and make it his best performance yet. With his ability and drive, combinded with having the look and a great script to work with plus a great director to guide him, Bale will get the job done. Come 2005 the world will see batman like never before, and bale will forever etch a place for himself in history as the Dark knight.

He plays Jesus in "The Passions of the Christ". He's a good actor, but I seriously couldn't picture him jumping from playing Jesus to playing Batman....I think Bale is the better choice.

I do remember hearing that Caviezel was mentioned as a candidate to play Superman a few years ago.

One guy shouldn't get to play Jesus and Superman.

Anybody that has just a little doubt that Bale can pull off the Dark Knight - go see EQUILIBRIUM. He's awesome, blows Reign of Fire and American Psycho away.....

Well, Bale's been Jesus and Batman. I think it would be cool if both big WB heroes have played Jesus. It links them.
