Default Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

From comingsoon.net

Source: Variety
May 29, 2005

Variety reports that screenwriter Jeff Nathanson's scripts for Indiana Jones 4 and Rush Hour 3 are moving in opposite directions.

While the trade previously reported that Chris Tucker was expected to sign a $20 million deal which would fast-track New Line's Rush Hour 3, the actor ended up not doing so.

Meanwhile, Nathanson's draft for Indiana Jones 4 has apparently met with the approval of George Lucas and Steven Spielberg. But before Paramount can move forward, Harrison Ford still has to sign off on the script, and he hasn't yet read it.

The trade adds that with "Star Wars" off his plate, Lucas recently summoned Nathanson to his Bay Area headquarters, where they went over the draft. The screenwriter also got notes from Spielberg, who brought him into the mix after working with him on Catch Me if You Can and Terminal.

Scheduling Indiana Jones 4 for a 2006 start will be tricky for Spielberg, who next heads to Europe to shoot his untitled drama about the aftermath of the 1972 Munich Olympics for Universal and DreamWorks, and is expected to follow in January with a DreamWorks film about Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War, to star Liam Neeson.

As much as I would love a new Indy film, Ford is getting too old and from the sound of it Spielbergs plate is full.

short round barely ever acts, although he still works in the industry.

he's doing the goonies sequel, though.

maybe ernie reyes jr could take over the role?
he was awesome in The Rundown.

if the movie is set in the 1960s or 70s, the harrison is the right age.

As much as I like Harrison Ford, it only goes to show that his star has plummeted so far as to be reduced to doing Indy IV. This should have been made a long time ago. Harrison Ford is awesome, but he's getting a little long in the tooth. One can actually blame this on Lucas, as he has been turning away every script that came on for Indy IV.

Harrison Ford is starting to get up there. The further the film is delayed, the likelyhood that it will not happen.

As for the other film mentioned, Rush Hour 3, it's too bad that film won't happen now that Chris Tucker has backed out. Maybe he backed out because he realizes that he does not deserve to make Tom Cruise type money ($20 million a picture).

Rush Hour 3 can happen without Tucker, just give Jackie new partners say someone like Tony Jaa and Chris Rock. It will be equally as funny.

Damn I was really looking forward to a Rush Hour 3 , the last two films were hilarious

But for Indy 4, I guess it depends on how the story flow. I guess they could put some extra make-up on ford to make him look younger.

Don't WORRY!
George'll just CGI Harrison's face!

Kind of like a reverse of Matt Damon in the end of Saving Private Ryan.

I still say this movie isn't going to happen. They waited too damn long. And it keeps getting delayed and delayed.

George was the one who kept holding it back, fact.
Subconsciously,it was because he felt insecure about his abilities after the reaming the first 2 prequels got.
But now that ROTS has gotten a ton of good reviews, and done well B.O.-wise,he'll go ahead and push for INDY 4.

So Chris doesnt want to make 20 mil on a movie that's destined to be a hit? He hasnt made a hit since Rush Hour 2. Oh well, again we are blessed with waisted talent. I hope Chris Rock, Dave Chapelle, Tracey Morgan, and other black talented comedians dont sell out like Tucker and other black comedians did. What Crap!

Man, Chris....what's going on with you, man? I seriously wanted to see this one, as it was supposed to take place in Africa and France, which would've been hilarious. And for a guy that hasn't worked since 2001, and the fact that this flick would've taken in more than 100 million for sheer name value and morbid curiosity alone, Tucker would've been worth the 20 mil.
