how about CGI a la Brainaic 13?
if not then Hugo Weaving does sound good, but maybe that's beccause he's already done one Computer character... how about Clive Owen? Julian McMahon would have been good had he already not been Dr. Doom

I think Brainiac should be full of CGI.
I also hope it will be the greatest CGI characters. It would be made by new special CGI program. Really great? Yep. What about voice? I think it also should be made by CGI and vissual effects.

Hugo Weaving would be good, but I want him to play Sinestro, should a GL movie ever be made. For me, there is an obvious choice for Brainiac:

Irons would make a good Sinestro. Now if only I could forgive him for Dungeons and Dragons.

I had this thought today, actually - David Bowie as Brainiac.
He'd wear some kind of costume, except for his head, which would be full of mo-cap dots (Andy Serkis style). Then the face would be CGI - a green android face with the unearthly apparance of the young Bowie. It wouldn't be hard to have it look totally photo-real these days. So you'd get his voice, his performance, and the way he looked 30 years ago. How ****ing awesome would that be? |

Thanks. If they go with the humanoid Brainiac, he'd be perfect. Although I do like the idea of the living computer, robot Brainiac as well (that version was always my personal favorite). It seems unlikely that they'd go with Robo-Brainiac though, since he hasn't been that way for some time now and if they used that version, then they probably would never use Metallo because he's look too similar. Ah, screw Metallo though. Robot Brainiac was 100 times the badass he ever was. |

Yeah, Malk can do cold-blooded and evil... a few of roles that he displays this well in are In the Line of Fire, Dangerous Liasons and even Con Air. IMO, he's best when he's playing an evil, scheming SOB. If he wouldn't do it though, I could see Colm Feore as Brainy. |

Malkovich is a great choice for Brainiac. Hadn't even thought of that. Colm Feore would be good as well. Hugo Weaving and Clive Owen are good choices as well. (However, Owen might make a better Zod)
Though he's not a bigtime star, I've liked Jeffrey Combs in everything I've seen him in. I think he could do Brainiac very well. I also think James Marsters would do as good a job on the big screen as he's doing on Smallville right now. But unfortunately I doubt they'll bring his Milton Fine/Brainiac over to the movies. |

Humanoid Brainiac sucks, have robot Brainiac using CGI and have Corey Burton voice it.

LOL. Official? Which office sanctioned this? The office of messageboard casting polls?
I still can't believe you actually got your forum. Ah well. CGI robot version of Brainiac. Which means you gotta go voice actor to bring this dude to life. Voice Actor choices: John DiMaggio (Bender, General Grievous) Frank Welker (Too many to name) Corey Burton (good choice from above) Actor Actor choices (Which is what it's going to be so they can put a name on the poster) Michael Clarke Duncan Keith David Keifer Sutherland

A good, and especially great actor can pull off being totally alien and/or robotic and emotionless without the need for makeup or CGI. Malkovich can do that. So can Combs and Marsters. But I do think Combs would also do well as Rorsach(sp) in the Watchmen. I love him as the Question on JLU. |
