....okay, this is for your gut reaction right after the movie ended, and everything that culminated after that point! Pure fan reaction (good or bad). We want the raw truth hear, and don't worry, let EVERYTHING hang out here!

First of all, I DID see X3 on Friday night, aka "The Big Night", but i do have a life, and i wasn't able to get to the computer ALL weekend. So my best friend and my girlfriend and i were in line to see X3. Already some asswipe kid was trying to spread spoilers throughout the crowd. By grace I avoided what he said but my girlfriend later told me he was saying, "the bald man dies, the bald man dies!"... Let me just say for the record that if i would have heard THAT i would have walked right over to him and hit his ass in the face!!!! there is no excuse for that!
Anyway, we get in there and there's this little 4yr old bouncing up and down in front of me and running around b/f the movie started...not to mention the negative speculation on the hype and the personal pressure i put on the movie. That's a LOT a negativity going into the movie and I was worried sick that the entire experience would be DESTROYED! Well, the 4 yr old girl was good after the OPENING SCENE, and i was able to "get into" the movie.... After it ended my best friend is A D D and was all over me for a reaction... I couldn't speak! I was in shock... |

...So my bf is trying to get some sort of response from me, and i'm like "shut up!" ...."i don't have anything to say right now!" And this went on for the next upteen minutes.
let me just say i was experiencing literal SHOCK from this movie! I couldn't even form an opinion of whether i liked it or not until the next day. That was my INITIAL reaction! |

I felt the same way...Saturday, I sat down and watched X1 and X2... I paid close attention to Jean, prof x, and Logan and Scott all the way through, oh and Bobby and Magneto. ... After that, I really wanted to see X3 for the third time.

I just said to my boyfriend how "****ty" it was, we were both pretty optimistic going in. He agreed with me.
But I also had to pee really badly and as much as I love X-Men, I wanted it to end quickly. 4 days later and it still saddens me

My instant fan reaction?
"Thank God it's over. I need to pee."

I pretty much was like that for the first 30 minutes after seeing the movie too, just utterly shocked....then it sank to me that I did in actuality like the film.

Here's the deal, my first reaction, FIRST reaction was;
"That director, those writers, and them moviemakers have got some REAL BALLS for what they did with that material!!!" -Prog (to his girlfriend) That's my tagline for that movie! They went some places in that movie and did some things to some SACRED characters that took some REAL balls! I don't know if i'll hate it or love it, long term...but that's what i'm still taking away from it. |

For all those who say it was a good film for how much time they had to make it, I still say it's a load of garbage to throw something like that on the screen and call it good. They were trying to hit a deadline of memorial day weekend in order to hit a max payday. They (I don't know who to blame as they - Fox?) just wanted a film to be there on memorial day rather than a good product. Despite there being good action and seeing great use of superpowers I am dissapointed because this movie could have been so much better. In my mind X2 was far better. X2 should have had more superpowers on display and X3 should have had a better script.
The massive 1 hour 44 minute storyline was this: Jean supposedly dead --> Jean discovered as Phoenix --> Humans find cure --> Magneto rises against humans --> Humans rise against Magneto --> X-men join battle to stop Magneto and Phoenix THE HATE LIST
