They may use a younger actor to portray Magneto.
Ian in 1965 aged 26. ![]() ![]() ![]() Ian in 1970 when he was 31. ![]() Who do you think could play Eric? Last edited by Electrix; 06-07-2006 at 10:54 AM. |

In that first pic, I get a Karl Urban vibe for some reason.
But then I get Rhys Ifans which is even weirder...

I think they should get the kid who played Eric during the deathcamp flashback in X1. He would be about 20something now. It would be nice for continuity.

I doubt he will look anything like Ian. he has only acted in one other thing so he isnt much of an actor... |

Depending on how old they make Magneto in this movie -
James Marsters ![]() Seriously, there is a resemblance there. If not to play Magneto, then to play Quicksilver is another X-spinoff Last edited by The Top Hat; 06-07-2006 at 01:22 PM. |

oh wow, James Marsters would be an awesome look a like casting. I just wonder if he has the presence to pull off the film mostly by himself, that's the only problem. I could see them casting someone that doesn't necessarily resemble Ian as he used to appear.
Also...I kinda want a somewhat buff Magneto, I missed that element in the movies. |

Ian looks better than I expected when he was younger.

Also, I don't think I could see him as anyone other than Spike...

Whoever plays Magneto, needs to be an incredible actor to fallow in Ian Mckellon's footsteps. It's going to be hard seeing someone else in that role.

^ Exactly, whoever is cast as a young Magneto is never gonna fill Ian McKellan's shoes.
He's the most talented actor out of all the talented actors that worked on the X Films. He's easily the toughest to replace. |

Has anyone considered Ewan McGregor yet? He's got the acting ability and I think he could pull off the look as well.
