Producer of the Xmen movies and the up coming Transformers movie, Tom Desanto, had this to say about the fan film BATMAN LEGENDS...
"Aaron has reached into the head of every fanboy and made those dreams a reality." you can check out multiple versions of the film at http://batinthesun.com/movies.html or directly at youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yq5RHUO6yLg |

That was so great but I didn't like Batman's voice.

To be honest, I'm getting rather bored with these so-called fan made films. Their all the same. All flash, little to no substance, and a lack of originality. Their storylines are nil (if none-existent); and if they actually do show effort in telling one, it's usually a hodge-podge of recycled ideas and past stories. It seems their main objective comes down to depicting a fanboy's wet dream, of seeing their favorite comicbook characters prance around in all their glory, no matter how out of place and silly they appear in their surroundings. All which culminates in a grand scheme of pointless encounters and violence, giving way to tired and reused dialogue taken from various comicbook sources. Yeah, there's been a recent slew of disappointing comicbook films (mainly Marvel, if anything); but thank Christ, these people aren't making them. It could be a whole lot worse..

Well, Batman Returns is not going to be to everyone's liking – and thank God for that, because a film that's to everyone's liking is, by its very nature, bound to be free of much in the way of risks. And RETURNS is nothing if not risk-taking. |

Ill agree with you to a point sab, many fan films are all flash and no substance, but you need to research before you go taking all your fan film frustrations out on one in particular. Bat in the Sun, who made Legends, also made the deepest, most psychologically thrilling fan film ever called Patient J. You should really check it out, it really is quite amazing.
As for being heavely influenced by their comic source, its true, thats why they are made, to give you a glance at the world they came from. Like it or not, some are very well made and enjoyable. |

Bat In The Sun productions are good like Dark Justice or Batman Beyond: Year One (I think BB: Y1 was made by BITS?) Also they do try to base on Batman comics.

Now this was a good Batman fan film! That Death of Batman (crap)! I enjoyed this one, the costumes looked pretty good and the actors were not all that bad I liked it.
