Is everyone expecting an X4?

According to Penn I believe, Fox decided to market the movie as the "last stand" about halfway through development, to his distaste. They claimed this would be the last one, then they claimed it was simply the final one in the trilogy. Rothman like an idiot likened it to Return of the King.

But no matter how much they try to drill it into peoples heads about this being the final film, no one is conviced.

Jackman and Ratner both say it is, but what does Jackman care he's getting his own movie. And Ratner obviously doesn't know much about the comic history if he truly believes this is as far as it can go.

Basically I'm saying that with the ending of the movie, I haven't met a single person or heard a single interviewer be actually convinced.

Is fox setting people up for dissapointment with just these lame Spin offs?

X4=not in a while... I think they are done for a while... at least until when Fox loses the rights... they aren't gonna invest 200 million for an Xmen film every year when they already got spinoffs to do... not for another 5/6 years minimum... there is no rush to do it... find the right new cast... get the plot right... and then give us Sinister, Apocalypse, etc... I thought x3 was good and it made money but it wasn't enough to keep the demand up for more in the immediate future.

Either we don't get an X4, or we have to wait a long ass time for it.

I think all the open loops they left on X3, is just for them to leave a little crack on that door, they want to still be able to bring X men movies back if they decide to at some point, but as for today, it is the last one, but that can change anytime in the near future. I remeber when X2 came out, a lot of people were speculating just like today if there was going to be an X3 or not, here we have it. I personally think there will be an X4, but not in the near future, not before 2009.

They got to do a x4. they cant just leave us hanging like that.

I'd say X4 in 2009 or 2010, but later I doubt it, they won't do it later than that, I think. If they don't do it in those years, it will be they don't want to do it.

It's all about the bottom line. If X3 performs well here and internationally and DVD sales are high enough, Fox will greenlight X4.
Not that they should, but they will.

They do an X4 or we boycot Fox hows that. Wouldn't too be hard since they don't make anything worth buying other than X-Men. Star Wars is in limbo at the moment.

It will be an X4 but not that soon, my guess. They will be busy making other movies like a Wolverine movie or a magneto movie than to make another sequel. It would be best for the producers to try something else.

maybe they named it "the last stand" because they wanted people to think it's the last one so that when x-men 4 (if one) comes out everyone will be stunned that there is a new one...just a thought

i think the spin-offs (only wolverine and magneto more magneto than wolverine) will open a door so x4 can be more interesting then x3....so x4 probably wont be "4" a while

my guess is that'll either come out in 2009 or 2010. No sooner or later. If they don't do it by then, you'll expect them to wait for about 30 years like they did with Superman and THEN they'll bring them back, and call it something stupid like X-Men Returns.

I sure hope they don't do that..... I remember in a few interviews that there is always a possiblity of X4. Even though WE didn't like x3, the general public did. Most of those people who aren't readers of the comics loved it.

I've heard from friends if you read the book first(or in this case: comics) you'll hate the movie. But if you see the movie first you'll hate the book, cause their different. I know this also from trying it out. I read the sisterhood of traveling pants book after I watched the movie. Hated the book, loved the movie.

General Plublic did really??..you need to come my job at Rockafella center and convince the Non-comic readers that X3 didn't suck cause All them think it did...the whole building didn't like it....and they know a good movie when they see one and they have good taste..trust me...I even put a small poster up since May...I always use my building as the general audience...they all went and came back and I ask almost every what they thought..and the reviews were heavily mixed for this movie unlike the first two...

Spinoffs won't do justice to the charaters and story they messed up in X3. Only X4 can fix that. When the cast is returned to their rightful place, in a convincinc and respectful way, only then can you have justice.

And why all the fuss about X3 being the last one? you keep hearing it. The End. Finale. Dead End. finished. caput.

WHY?

Don't they like making movies? Why would they want to starve the fans by denying them material? What's wrong with making more films? I thought that's why they were in this business.

That's why they killed off so many characters on purpose and ran the story into a wall. To make it very difficult to continue. Now they can claim they can't do anymore films because they're already "dead". It drives you nuts just thinking about it!

No problem with ending a triology. Just start a new story arc. But to purposely not want to make more movies? What kind of an attitude is this? Maybe we hurt their feelings and they don't want to play with us anymore?

I seriously CRINGED in my seat in the scene when Strom talked to Wolverine right before they went to go fight Phoenix and Magneto. Gah! Letting Singer slip through their fingers for SUPERMAN was the worst thing Fox could've done.
