Spider-man the legacy?? You Decide!!

If Peter had to be replaced as Spider-man who could replace him? Would you be against it?

Would it be a totally new character or an already establish character?

Maybe it's something you don't want to see happen, if so challenge me as to why not. This is your chance to vent, rant, and rave.

Hell I'm game and I got a thick skin, so blast me or agree it's all good.

They already kinda did this with Spider-girl, but it's hard ot think of someone in current continuity to really take his place. Spiderman has specific powers, so without some way of technologically replicating them, the character can't be spidey.

I like the idea of his own bloodline continuing it best, like in Spider-Girl, but out of those choices I'd say that Peter should remain Spider-Man.

Yeah, I chose that one since it's kinda what the bloodline thing would require, that being a new character. Who is Rick Jones btw?

Who's Arana, isn't she like spider-girl in the 616? Also If someone had to take over as the main "spider" character per say of Marvel Why not Spider-woman?

Well, Spider-woman (Jess Drew) isn't really everymanish, she a super-spy.

Arana is a Spider-girl in 616, but she's based on the totem idea JMS presented. She has Spider-man's basic powers, as given to her by the Spider Society. Haven't read too much of her, so that's about as far as my knowledge goes.

spider-man should one day have a son (im not against spider-girl, but there should ALWAYS be a spider-man - they can work together!) who could gain his powers at 15 (late bloomer

) and be into science. as such he can still be "puny parker" and the underdog. just you could have his dad trying hard to get him into science and he could be the next generations premier smart guy, kinda like a cross between clueless-as-to-his-wifes-wishes mr fantastic and tragic-never-gona-get-a-girl classic peter. thatd rule so much. hey maybe they'll do that in say 100 years time, when they finally age spider-man enough.

having sed that, i voted for phil urich, cos i always thought he was kinda cool... then again i saw his look in the MC2 universe. very very... NOT cool...

Oh and don't undersell RICK JONES. he's been captain marvel (or shared a body with him). he ended the kree-skrull war (right?) and he started up some kinda youth group that help heroes. check out wikipedia for a far more detailed synopsis. but i do have a problem with him -- isnt he older than pete?? or at least the same age?? he hasnt been a kid for years, as much as peter hasnt. writers just try to kid us that they are (no pun intended)

Honestly, Peter Parker IS the Spiderman mythos. Much like Clark Kent/Superman . The mantle could never be passed. It's not like the Flash or Green Lantern where the title can go around.

I enjoyed reading Spider-girl back when I still collected comic books, so I would have to say the only acceptable replacement to Peter would be his children.

I agree the only spider-people worth having would have to be Peter's children.

Just as only Osborns should be Green Goblins.

I really like the idea of Peter fathering an entire race of spider-people.(Not all at once you pervs.) I could just see some future Parkers teaching thier little ones how to wall crawl and telling them bedtime stories about Peter.

yeah read the new FNSM issues. theres a brill scene in FNSM 9 where hobgoblin tells her father (the spider-man of the day) "Peter would be so ashamed of you", as he puts the gov't job he has ahead of her. its cool
