Yes. It means Wonder Woman will train to become a ninja.

Sarcasm aside, here's hoping every hero, supporting character, and villain in Wonder Woman doesn't bring up her mom every 5 minutes.

Batman Begins reference. I loved the movie, but it felt like everyone who talked to Bruce played the "Thomas Wayne" card. Alfred, Ducard, Rachel, the board of directors, people at Bruce's party, ect.

I made a joke. It's not funny. I apologize.

Maybe because Whedon is a feminist and gets most his strength from his mother.

That's a bit of an assumption, don't you think? He could simply be watching comic book movies because he's never made an adaption of something that wasn't his own work to another medium beofe.

I was a little tired of it by the third time Ducard told Bruce that his father lacked the strength to do what must be done.

I think we should all be glad he's trying his damnest not to turn in a sub-par product by watching good superhero movies over and over to get good ideas.

Ironically this is the third post you've spent complaining about it.

if you've been following this developemnt as closely as as some of us have, you wouldnt say that.

ultimatefan nailed it.

if we get the news that Whedon is quitting the project we wouldnt be surprised. we've seen this coming already for months.

what surprises us is that Whedon is still attached to this project knowing how uncomfortable he is already.

dont get us wrong. we are no Whedon bashers-- a great deal of us thinks he's a very talented guy. but there are some (specially his fans) that knows his work personality and listening/ reading his interviews they can tell that he is in trouble.

I really don't think he "nailed" it at all. I mean, I've been following the project rather closely, and there doesn't seem to be anything glaringly wrong with it. The only real problem I could see is the whole villain issue.

I agree with you, Q. Although a lot of the storyline was already planned out for him (this may be true), Whedon does have some leeway to modify the script as he sees it. My belief on the whole villain thing is two fold: 1) Whedon wants to prove to the public that he can be original and 2) he wants to also have some ownership on some aspects of the film. By creating his own villain, he gets to do both and also has some limited rights on a character in the picture. The comment he made about pulling teeth was just his indication of how difficult it is to write this story without relying heavily on the existing source material. It could also be an exageration just to impress his fans and the public - I wouldn't put it past him. In any case I seriously doubt that the project or his job is in any jepordy nor that anything is behind schedule right now.

i'd imagine trying to reintroduce THE superheroine for your first major comic book movie would be hard, especially when all the other superheroine movies have bombed. so yeah, i dont think hes the wrong guy for the job just because hes feeling pressure

For the villain, he said the villain would be heavily based in Greek mythology, so it probably wouldn't be anything that Wonder Woman wouldn't be fighting somewhere down the line anyway. And, Joss has said in the past that writing anything, especially movies, is like pulling teeth. As an (amature) writer, I can atest to the truth of that.

Very true. If I were writing any of the major characters of popular fiction, I'd be feeling some pressure.
