Based on the American McGee game.
Apparently Sarah Michelle Gellar is cast as the lead. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0466663/ For those who aren't familiar- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_McGee%27s_Alice |

Hmm... could be good if they make it spooky as hell. SMG would be hot as hell in the outfit.

I've been hearing about this being bandied about since 2001, and the news about Gellar being cast came up a year ago. That's all I've heard since.
Is there any recent news on the production? Is it even still happening?

Tim Burton might been a good choice for a director. Haven't seen TCM or Frankenstein so I don't know about Nispel's abilities but he seems to be okay choice.

I have been looking forward to this movie for so many years now its unbelievable. I must admit, even though Buffy is my number one show I did emit a "Noooooo" when I heard SMG was cast as Alice. She just doesn't have the look or, from what I've seen, been able to have the qualities that I see in the character of Alice. Hopefully she will prove me wrong of course.
Fingers crossed its actually creepy and they don't mainstream the f*** out of it. |

you know, I love the book as much as the next guy, but you're really over-reacting. It's not an adaptation of the book, it's an adaptation of a video game that was very loosely based on the the book...and it's not like them making a movie of this in any way takes away from the greatness that was the book, and it's not like they ever have/will make a good direct adaptation of the book anyway

Seriously though, I don't think filming for Alice has even begun yet. My best friend is a Sarah Michelle Gellar maniac, and I asked him and he said that she is busy filming 'A Girl's Guide To Hunting' right now, and last year as busy filming 'Southland Tales' and 'The Return'. |
