Searching for the crystals
Why do you think Kitty thew them out?
Do you think that the future sequels will show Kal-El looking for them in space, trying to relocate the remains of his mother and father? |

And while he's up in space searching for the crystals a "villian" is gonna follow him to earth. So not only is Superman left to try and save his dying son but he's gotta contend with a new Villian. |

The entire fortress was grown from one crystal in the first movie so I would assume each crystal is like a stem-cell. They store information and grow so I wouldnt really worry about the fortress' crystals being gone because they may grow back. What he has to worry about it someone else using those crystals out there as "seeds" again.

I always took the green crystal as being the 'master' crystal.
Maybe he used up it's energy in SM2 |
