Thumbs up Kingdom Come written by Mark Waid and painted by Alex Ross.

Kingdom Come

Kingdom Come
is a comic book limited series published in 1996 by DC Comics, written by Mark Waid and painted by Alex Ross. It concerns the efforts of Superman and the Justice League in the near future to control the growing population of largely amoral and dangerously irresponsible new superheroes. Alex Ross painted each page of the comic using watercolors.

The Absolute version of Crisis on Infinite Earths catalogued this timeline as Earth-96.

It's been 10 years??? Gawd I am old.

Kingdom Come was superbly written and beautifully illustrated. I heard that the novel was excellent too and I am planning on picking that up.

The offshoot "The Kingdom" had some good in-depth character looks at the next gen of heroes. Although I wasn't thrilled about the mini-series, the individual character stories were great, particularly Kid Flash and Ibn's

Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait...wait...wait...wait...wait...

This book...what's it called again...oh yeah... This book, Kingdom Come, which is supposedly written by Mark Waid with Alex Ross doing the art, is actually real?

It's got to be some fanboy playing with us...this book can not truly exist.

Actually I hate All Star Batman & Robin and most of Frank Miller's work. I put that up to make fun of it.

And, what's the deal with me not liking Kingdom Come? I didn't care for it. I hate it when people take comic book stuff too far. I think it was a good story that was a long time coming, really. It's an interesting concept what Mark laid forth how the sons and grandsons of The Golden Age heroes would act. I just couldn't get into the story. I think it's because I didn't like to see Bruce all old and crappy.

Bruce wasn't very crappy for an old guy. He still outmaneuvered Lex in the manipulation game, for one.
