Default Mark Millar interviewed by Richard & Judy

Mark Millar appeared on the chat show Richard & Judy today along with the producer of a documentary about the 'Superman curse'. Also present was a comic book fan. They discussed the Superman TV and movie franchise, as well as the curse placed upon that industry by Sieger. A documentary on this will air Saturday at 10pm, on Channel 4.

I thought Millar didn't even like Superman.

He wrote Red Son, but that still doesn't mean he likes Superman.

He doesn't like how Superman is portrayed these days. He wrote about his ideas for a Superman run a while ago and they were horrible.

Millar loves Superman. One of his first comic jobs was writing Superman Adventures, he did Red Son, and I read in Wizard once that he is dying to do a Supes book with Bryan Hitch.

That is true, and Hitch is a fan as well.

The pic above is millar's desk, this is from millarworld.tv. If you notice there are a few Superman items.

Putting it lightly, I'm less than thrilled with how Spider-Man is being written these days, but I don't hate Spider-Man. Just what they are doing to him.

I thought so too--they felt less like "Truth, Justice, and the American Way" and more like "The Kryptonian's Burden."

They all stemmed from "If I wanted to ruin Superman what would I do..."

They basically revolved around the view that Superman shouldn't be humanized at all. He should be alien and intimidating, and he should view humans as ants or, at best, favored pets.

thats a bit of a misinterpretation.

Basically he made the obeservation that superman isn't human and would have trouble relating and that despite his power he isn't all powerful.

Darth he wrote the superman adventures based on the animated series you can get them in digest format and they are damn good.
