If there had been thought balloons instead of boxes, I can basically see Stan Lee writing something very similar to that.

It was McFarlane, his style seemed so different from the torment days. It's amazing how different his people can look when he ditches the big hair.

Donald Thomas also has Last Hunt up on his website (the coolest site in the world) if you want to read it, but I still suggest getting the TPB if you enjoy it. http://www.donaldspidermanthomas.com/html/

Here is the wedding from Parallel Lives. I really like the art.... very JRSr-ish.

Soon after Peter and Mary Jane got back together, he was up early, had made a breakfast of soggy, microwaved waffles, and was going on and on about his latest "case" while MJ struggled to stay awake. It was way too early for her, but it was cute to see her try to be there for him... and to see he appreciated it.

I won't mention the arc... but this is one of my favorite pictures.

wow..such awesome panels..thanks for putting em up..I wish the current writers would do some homework, they'd clearly see that the spider marriage works beautifully.

I liked McFarlen during his first 20 issues or so. Then he went insane. And as I said I think his run on Spider-Man (as writer/artist) was bull**** with choppy and mediocre exaggerated art and down right horrendous exploitation writing.
I really like Bagely on his Amazing run but for some reason my favorite goes back to the Romitas, Sr. for classic and Jr. for modern. Anyway, what was that wedding issue about because I have the wedding issue and it is a bit different, what is "Parallel Lives?" Also, I really wish they were allowed to have a kid again. I mean after losing Baby May it was a great tragedy in Peter's life for three years and then they never mentioned baby May again. Stan Lee wrote the character to grow up. He graduated from high school, he went to college, grad school, dropped out, has a real job, gotten married after a multitude of love interests and heartache. The next step is to start a family. That ais how you break the status quo. Sure it ages him (mind you he is about 30 now if not a little bit older) and he needs to grow up some anyway. I just think he should have some kids. It would offer new drama in his life which is what makes the comic books work for decades as the kid(s) can grow about a year every 5-10. Sure maybe in 30 years she might get too old but hey then they can move maybe forward and perhaps introduce Ultimate as the main line (though I would hate that). I just think they should have a kid again now. |
