In the attachment is 3 drafts for the script and an outline... The first draft and the outline should be read together cuz I never finished the first draft. I included all of them because the first draft to the final draft is radically different they all have ideas I would of wanted to use but due to time nad budget I couldn't. The video is very different from the actual script since the kid got expelled from school the thug in the flash back who's beating the other kid up, the talking one. So we just filmed something based on the script...

That's an interesting look to go with for a western.

It's not entirely different actually, the actual setting looks very similar to James Stewart's "The Naked Spur". And the angles/cinematography is almost identical rip-off of John Woo and Sergio Leone's films.. For example the shot with the guy jumping and shooting I ripped off of Hard Boiled because the point of assignment was the emluate a genre so hence why I borrowed quite a bit.

I never said it was a BAD look.

Consider me a western traditionalist.

I didn't say you did, I'm just pointing out there are plently of westerns that take place in the forests and not in the sandy deserts... But don't get me wrong I would of love to have filmed somewhere like that but I live in Rhode Island, not a whole lot of that here.

These westerns are wrong.

I'd disagree, the setting is pretty super-ficial there are much broader conventions a western has to fill, western has also evolved much more over the years, in the beginning they were simple morality plays but now more and more different takes on western have evolved it way beyond that but I always think the morality plays were the best westerns...

Incidentally, I didn't mention that I actually quite liked the western. Did you touch up those gunfire effects in post?

Gun-Shot effects were added with a program called Effectslab, which you can get from fxhome.com... I try to shy away from special effects as much as possible because people are more prone to like it if you use SFX and it's less about your film-making and more about "ooo wow I can't believe you can do this".

Thanks. Like I said before, I'm doing a film next year and I need guns and gun effects.

I got a bunch from a dollar store for a dollar, know your format... What are you filming on? What's the film for?

Most of the technical details will be decided on in September.

The film is being shot as a sort of student film. For my first two years of high school I basically did small, 20 minute plays, but this past year I grew too ambitious and did a play featuring gunplay, special effects, high contrast lighting and an extremely complex plot. I felt that the stage was limiting me, and when I realised the script I was writing was going to be WAY too big for a play, I said to hell without and decided to do a movie.

I have enough experience with film that I know the basics of how to do it, but I'm still relatively terrified.

Theatre and Movies are two completely different beasts, one acts off dialouge and drama, the other is about visual... I don't know I been making videos since 8th grade and I never try tackling anything bigger than 10-15 minutes... Because it's hell of a lot of work, I mean a 10 minute film took me 2 months of hardwork.

If you have AIM- E1 P4dre IM me we'll talk.

Don't worry, I know what I'm doing, and I have a good backup crew and a stageband set to do any music I might require at any point in the future. Luckily, I've slowly amassed a sort of army of supporters within the school and the community.

As well, my plays always suffered for being too visual. I've done short films in the past. Thanks for the advice though.

I never wanted to be bother with big films... The bigger the crew the more complicated it gets, I just want play wiht angles, lighting, and visuals... But good luck on your film, how long is it going be?

Pretty long, not quite feature length, but I have a bit more than a year to make it.

Basically it's just for fun and a possible slight profit, but there is a possibility of submitting it to a local film festival.

It's a step up from your movie about the watch that turns back time...but it still gives off the home video vibe. Keep it up though, cuz it does look better.

Just watched the Sci Fi one, and I gotta say it's a step back from the western, the dialogue is sorta laughable, and that guy who plays the french dude needs to step his game up.
The western >>> the Sci Fi one.

The sci-fi one was written, shot, and edited in 48 hours.
