If we continue on the path that we are on, man will end up destroying the earth through global warming. Before we are completely wiped out by that, I think God will put us out of our misery and it'll go as it was written.

The sun as part of it's lifecycle will expand into a red giant in about 5 Billion years. The earth will probably be engulfed at this point, although some scientists believe that the decrease in the sun's gravity will enable the earth to escape. However the earth will be scorched beyond any habitability.
 After that the sun will eventually turn into a white dwarf and earth and the other planets orbits will expand further...jetisonning off into space. |

i'm going to go with viruses.
we already (supposedly, if you buy into the conspiracy) have the cure to aids, and other sicknesses, and it won't be released... because corporate america can make more money from treating it than from curing it... so it stands to reason that one day, they'll pull the same schtick, only it'll get out of hand, and everyone'll die from some mutated form of airborn aids... or herpes... or zombie-ism... or some new thing no one's ever heard of.
