Well, with her PHoenix powers Jean can manipulate matter right down to the molecular level. She's only limited by her imagination, and her knowledge of what that matter is made from. She can turn one material into another, but she doesn't make things appear out of nothing. So for your story, what JEan could do is manipulate not her costume but the pigments in her costume that make the colors. changing them from green to red and back again.

If she's naked then you could have her materialize clothes by using other materials nearby. Soil, dirt, grass and leaves and turn them into fabric and form around herself.

If I understand correctly, the idea is that she can't make something out of nothing, but she can turn something into anything. Wood into rock, or a rock into a hot cup of coffee.

She can be frighteningly destructive, or very gentle and delicate with the way she does this manipulation. Blow up a city block, or heal someone's broken bone.

uh...I dunno.

I just need a hand how Jean manipulates stuff with her mind, when she's wearing clothes and when she's not wearing clothes, in detail...

SHe focuses on the material, she can look at it the way no human can, understand what it's made from. Then make subtle changes to it, rearrange the way it's made so it either takes on a new form or becomes something else. She can think about the molecules in leaves and rearrange them, visualize them becoming cotton or polyester fabric, and then see that fabric form itself into sheets, then wrap themselves around her to make clothes.

Does that work?

So how did she get into that tank top and underwear when she was unconscious? Don't tell me that Wolverine changed her outfit.

^I'm pretty sure those are her undergarments when in X-Uniform.

Those were her undergarments she wore. If you look back in X2, when she's wearing the X-sweater with the zipper, she's wearing the tank top underneath. I didn't notice it before until a while ago. lol. but yeah...now we know what she wears underneath her x-uniform.

I didn't realize that they could be her undergarments. I assumed they were just something maybe Storm dressed her in whilst they studied her in the Med Lab.

They musta put the pumps on her though. For no reason, I might add.

No he's talking about those slip-on canvas shoes she was wearing.

Speaking of undergarnments, I don't think that's what the females wore under their uniforms. There are some shots of Jean where you can see edges of a black lacy bra just pop out of her uniform while flying the blackbird. either actual footage or some still shots. It's a minor nitpick, but I too figured what you see her wearing in the infirmary is what they dressed her in after getting her out of that uniform that she was soaking in for 8 months.

Yeah, pumps is an English thing.

And I'm with ntcrawler, in an image it shown Jean with her bra poking out. I don't think the black tanktop and pants were her undergarments.

But Jean is wearing a totally different outfit then, she isn't wearing her X-Suit. For all we know, she took off the black tank top as well as the rest of the outfit when she changed into her X-Suit and simply had a bra underneath, as the image shows.

Plus, I'd like to believe that Storm changed Jeans outfit to the black tank after they found her, instead of leaving her in undergarments that she's been wearing for 3 years.

That's probably just their casual/comfy stuff to wear when out in the field when the public isn't looking at them. Perfect for sleeping in tents during a campout

Yeah besides not reeking of lake water for 8 months, it was just something more comfy and appropriate to dress a person in when they need to be examined or spend time in the infirmary.

Seriously. Watch the scene in X2 when she talks to Logan under the Jet...She is wearing the undergarments she wore in X3. Thats what I meant in my other post earlier.

The pic Mothling posted, is just a still shot.

She does, yeah. It's probably just something common they keep around. You know, buy them in 10-packs and all
