Jurors find Yates not guilty

Isn't it wierd that the more insane your crime is the better your chance of getting off. If you sell a bag of weed, you go straight to jail. If you break into a nursery and kill and eat 17 babies they send you to a hospital.

HOUSTON - Jurors found Andrea Yates not guilty by reason of insanity in her children's bathtub drowning deaths.

This is the second trial for the suburban mother who drowned her five young children in a bathtub.

The jury had spent 11 hours Monday and Tuesday trying to determine if Yates was legally insane. Wednesday morning, they reviewed the state's definition of insanity and then asked to see a family photo and candid pictures of the five smiling youngsters. After about an hour of deliberations, they said they had reached a verdict.

In Yates' first murder trial, in 2002, the jury deliberated about four hours before finding her guilty. That conviction was overturned on appeal.

Now come on guys, letz be fair, how do you expect someone who is wack in the head to act? If this lady's judgement was truly clouded by a mental disorder how can you hold her accountable for what she did? Yes, she killed the kids but how do we hold someone accountable for someone when they cannot make sane choices?

Well that's only logical to say but who is to say what logic is to this lady? If her reasoning was so clouded by a mental disorder to the point where she cannot make healty choices for herself, let alone for her children, how do we hold this person accountable for their actions if to a certain degree they cannot help it?

Again, you're reasoning by your own logic, but this lady CANNOT reason so what if in her mind murder is logical? You don't hold a dog or a shark accountable for murder since they cannot reason. Why can't certain humans be judged by the same merit if they themselves cannot help their own behavior because of brain damage and mental disorders.

There is no reward for murder only consequences. This lady would have to be locked up but no in the same facility for cognizant criminals but in a mental institution instead. That way she gets a lengthy sentence and at the same time she gets the help she needs.

Yes, because they are expendable but people are not. If it is truly proven that this lady is truly insane and her mind is clouded enough not to make good choices and reason than she should get help and still get a sentence though.

Moreover, she only drowned the kids because she wanted to make sure they'd go to Heaven. When I drown kids, I'm trying to send them to Hell.
