Gundam 00 4 Main Characters and Gundams revealed, info from ANN

Bandai revealed all four of the Gundam Meister pilots and their Gundam mobile suit robots in this October's Mobile Suit Gundam 00 science fiction series on June 14. The event at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel's Club eX in Tokyo also had basketball-player-sized statues of the four Gundams and prototypes of the upcoming plastic models. Bandai president Kazunori Ueno said that the animated characters will appeal "not only to the female fans acquired by the last series, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny, but also the male fans who like a hard [science-fiction] worldview."

The main lead is Setsuna F. Seiei, a 16-year-old from the Middle East's Kurdis Republic (an apparent wordplay on the Kurds) who keeps his thoughts hidden beneath a cool exterior. He pilots the GN-001 Gundam Exia, a mobile suit that owes its extraordinary maneuverability, stealthiness to conventional radar, and close-combat deadliness to the revolutionary GN drive and seven swords.

Setsuna's team leader is 24-year-old Lockon Stratos, who joined the Solestal Being private military organization because he lost his family due to terrorists. He pilots the GN-002 Gundam Dynames, which is reconfigurable per mission with a variety of guns (including a standard GN sniper rifle).

Allelujah Paptism (an apparent wordplay on baptism) is a seemingly calm, benign 19-year-old who grew up as an orphan in the Humanity Reform League, the league centering around China, Russia, and India, before joining Solestal Being. He pilots GN-003 Gundam Kyrios, the team's only fully transformable Gundam—it has a flight mode with reconfigurable weapon modules.

The final Gundam Meister pilot on the team is Tieria Arde, a bishōnen whose birthplace, nationality, and age are wrapped in mystery. Tieria pilots the GN-005 Gundam Virtue, the most heavily armed and armored Gundam of the four known ones. Its weapons include the GN Bazooka and GN Cannon, and its defenses include the GN Field barrier.

To promote the series and the franchise, Tokyo's Ikebukuro Sunshine City shopping complex will hold GunPla [Gundam Plastic Model] Expo Tokyo during August 11-16. The first episode will have advance previews via a screening caravan that will tour 28 locations in Japan in September.

Also, its going to be first Gundam series to be broadcast in high-definition format.

The 'zooka's about the same, and I see no generator for said barrier. O.o

And like I said, "inspired", not "directly ripped off of". Especially since it's lacking inner thrusters under the shoulder armor.

^.^ I know, and actually I think the 'zooka' is longer on the Physalis.

And from what I read, the GN-drive is the power source for the four new Gundams in Gundam 00, so you can't see it but it there. And I dont know, the thruster could be hidden underneath the shoulder armor, see how it seems to have a square opening.

For whatever reason, I thought you meant it was going to be used like an I-Field emitter. x.x

But the shoulder plating doesn't seem long enough for it. It looks like they only stopped at one per "wing".

Perhaps there's a bigger booster on the back? Because something like that, unless you had engines that would probably rip the thing right off due to the necessary thrust coming from it, it's going to be like ten tons of tractor to move around.

Well, the shoulder platting look as if it would open, as well as the platting at the sides of the legs and I'm sure there are thruster underneath the feet, there always thruster underneath the feet.

Here what I gather about the new GN drive:

Solar Generator:

A top secret technology being researched, this is the common name for the Energy source GN Drive. When mass is destroyed without the discharge of gun particles, a great amount of positron and photon are generated. Smaller units have also been designed, and the special advantage is the non-generation of excess heat. The GUNDAM units are powered with this technology.

GN Particles:

A sort of mutation neutrion discovered by chance, it is the origin of the research behind the GN Drive. When the GN Drive is in operation, these particles are automatically generated. When they’re in the air they have the special property of shutting down all radar systems completely.

So it's basically Minovsky Particles. Especially since they serve the same exact purpose. The only difference is the source of fuel.

Judging from those images,Japan looks to be still in their SEED craze.But its been a while since a new Gundam series came out.

While I did begin my love of Gundam with Wing I now detest that series. I'm a man of the classics so I'm sticking with Mobile Suit Gundam: The Movie, Soldiers of Sorrow, and Encounters in Space. I also have a morbid fondness for Zeta and its constant torture of each of the characters, and of course the phenomenal Char's Counterattack.

While I hear some shady things about ZZ I'm awaiting the official release here in the US.

Now, oddly enough I absoulutely love G Gundam with its awesom fights and its overall tight writing and characterizations.

I know there ARE thrusters. Unit 2 had four.

I find it interesting that there is so much hate for Wing by fans of hte original. I have seen the original series (unfortunately I have not seen the acclaimed sequels in Zeta and Char's Counterattack) and it is great stuff. And yes Zechs from Wing is more than "inspired" by Char. But that was intentional. It was a partial retelling of that but with a very different take on it and a different view point on the philosophy of war.

I personally don't mind the "super-indestructable Gundams" of Wing and find all the characters in it (save for Wufei, who is an annoying bland prick, I agree) far more interesting than that of the original series, again save for Char of course. I find just because it took a few ideas from the original fans just can't seem to like it (that and it is much more popular in the US).


I mean if you are going to detest something for ripping off UC, go after Seed. That is a bad show on top of being a merged version of Wing and MSG, but less than half as interesting as either.



Also, I'm glad to see there is some love for 08th MS Team. My favorite OVA that always seems underrated. It really was a great show.

i think you guys both forget this is not just some blast, this thing has destroyed close to a mile radius
as well Wing Zero has his skill with a beam saber and his shield, 2 factors i think that should be put into consideration

Nope, didn't forget that the blast of the twin buster rifle are so power that it can bring down a colony a mile away. As for the mile radius, its when the rifles are split which makes the power half as strong as when there together. Either way, God Gundam does have the speed to dodge the blast and don't forget it can go into Hyper mode.

The Burning (God) Gundam has it. The Wing has powerful powerful attacks, but it can't withstand the other, and can't hope to match it's speed.

wait speed I hope you guys are not serrios b/c on the offical web site it says that both of their greatest attibrutes are speed, and yes i can see that both of their speeds are on two different measuring systems but it looks as to me that they would be considered equal...as well you might need to consider the whole Zero System in effect as well seeing with it Herro would do anything even at his own life to win
