Default BRAINIAC: Birth of a Sequel with a seed that was planted

As with most comicbook movies, The producers/writers/directors/investors tend to have a "Creative Freedom" that can reinvent storylines and characters from comics. Well using this style of "CREATIVE FREEDOM", I have designed the following.

Knowing Brainiac was a Computer/program designed on Krypton it would be logical to think that the essense or core programing of a sentient computer would have been saved by JOR-EL, Since it was a key acheivement in Kryptonian history.

Now using the same "CREATIVE FREEDOM", perhaps Brainiac never turned bad on Krypton before its destruction (or maybe he did).

Either way, stored in the Krystals is a vast knowledge from around the universe, surely the Brainiac code was saved into one those of those Krystals so to preserve the accomplishment of such a fantastic Computer system/program.

If so Perhaps the Krypton Island that Superman threw into space at the end of Superman Returns will be the birth place of Brainiac. Perhaps it will be like a giant egg. Where the Krystals dropped by Kitty will be like seeds of a new supervillian, stored by Jor-El, who had no idea that Braniac could re emerge (depending on if he turned evil on Krypton before destruction) or emerge, this all depends on timelines and how a writer would want to portray the introduction of Brainiac (being created or pre existence).

So basically as the Krypton Island floats of into space, those other krystals begin to grow.

The whole island becomes a living computer of sorts, then much the like the legend of Sun Ku Wong or MONKEY KING, from out of the stone emerges A new life form, Braniac. Perhaps within him could be the Krystals still in original form, kind of like a CPU. (again not necessary but an option)

PLOT QUESTION: Why is he a villian?
Answer: Cause Krypton no longer exists.

Perhaps his underlying core program is to preserve Krypton, When he discovers it destruction he plans to recreate it. Similar in style to Lex's plan in Superman Returns but on a Global scale.

So Earth would a great staging ground for this and would need a Kryptonian make over.

In Walks the hero, Superman who although wants to preserve his heriatage will not let the destruction of Earth happen.

I think Brainiac or some kind of Kryptonian weapon in space; existed prior to SR. I think it's vessel was the object that astronomers believed was Krypton; maybe it was a setup.

That sounds like a cool idea. It could be why the whole plot point of Luthor being responsible for the findings of the NASA astronomers was removed from the final cut of the film.

Exactly. Plus seeing a Luthor/Brainiac team up would be awesome.

I'd rather the Eradicator gets shown in the sequel. It's a cooler name than Brainaic....and I'm a bit sick of Brainaic after watching the Brainiac strikes DVD.

That sound great, it's a possible way to do the sequel.

Well...it depends on which Brainiac your talkin about...the one on the animated series was basically a merge of Eradicator and Brainiac....cause in the comics...Brainiac's orgin is one of the most retarded thing to even explain. First he was a magican that got possessed by a evil spirit of a Alien....then a alien robot...then something else....I gave up after all the changes in the comics. There's like 12 different Brainiacs over the years.

So in terms of villians....I'm totally sick of him. I'd take Metallo, Parasite, Eradicator or....Mongul.

Machines and computers taken over the world has already been done via the Matrix. I like Braniac, but even with his power Supes always hands him his ass. Plus, we've already seen Supes battle a "super computer" in S3. I don't wanna see Zod, Braniac, Metallo.....I wouldn't hate those villians, but I'd rather see Supes put to the ulimate test.....that's only occurred with Doomsday and Gog.....gimme a big badass baddy that isn't something we've seen before.

Superman alerted Brainiac that there were kryptonian survivors when Superman went back to look at the remains of his homeworld (where brainiac survived in some sort of stasis to conserve energy) He followed Superman back without his knowning and found Earth.

I LOVE this idea. It'd be great to see a scene in SR 2 where Clark, visting his mother, decides to take a look at the ship he crash-landed in and finds it missing.

Or, to re-use SR footage, a flashback could be shown in which young Clark discovers the crystal under the barn. The plot explanation would be that Brianiac (or Eradicator...I like that name) had been developing since Clark's birth.

Actually the prequel comics that came out stated that Lex falsified the news story that remnants of krypton still existed. He was hoping that superman would die in space due to the kryptonite radiation remaining in the area. I do think that setting up brainiac that way is an awesome idea. But it should involve something other than trying to recreate Krypton on earth.

So you would rather see a mindless killing machine than an actual character?
