I liked the twist aspect we didn't get with the original story. Its no secret now who the other wolf is. But i think it brings a more twist to where a son and father did not know each other but in a way the curse brings them togther.
Got a question for those who has seen it. Does Hopkins have control of his Wolf or is it something he like most cannot control. |

I still want to see this but it is getting horrible reivews
I hope that the reason is that critics are use to lame horror movies from recent years and that this harkens back to classic horror with a little new thrown in.

It's getting SOME horrible reviews. Don't be melodramatic. AintItCool was stellar, Roger Ebert liked it a lot, sprinkled with good reviews here and there a few bad reviews from people who missed the point entirely. Coupled with all the fan reactions being overwhelmingly positive. See it for yourself and decide for yourself. Don't let someone else think for you. |

And like was said elsewhere. Critics hated the original Wolfman and American Werewolf in London.
Shows how much some critics know. |

I was preaching that a few pages ago. See the movie and make up your opinion of it or quit whining about how you wont see it because your sister's cousin's best friend's roommate's ex-boyfriend's uncle told you it sucked.
Speaking of Ebert's review though: That man never ceases to baffle me. He seemed to enjoy it very much, only having problems with some of the CGI. So why the hell did he give it 2 1/5 stars? |

*shrugs* I think he uses an out of 4 system. So 2.5 out of 4 is pretty good. |

Yep. I get what you mean. Oh well. I'll take a weird rating with a great review over the opposite. |

I can't remember if this was posted here and I'm too lazy to look, so I'm just going to post it so I can find it later.

I saw this last night at a special screening and it's a fantastic film. All the actors give great performances especially Bencio and Emily. Sir Anthony Hopkins gives his usual greatness and it's pretty sweet to see Hugo Weaving play a good guy for once. All the wolf scenes are absolutely fantastic and they can get quite gory. All in all I give a 9 outta 10.

I actually have the original wolfman movie on dvd. It is part of this wolf man collection.
This remake doesn't seem to be getting that great reviews, I may just watch the original film this weekend instead.

The homage is blatantly obvious. I knew nothing about it beforehand, but still the 'resemblance' was obvious. To be honest I wouldn't bother slinging the term "homage" around seeing as it's more of a "copy". Quote:
Wow, really? Quote:
No, I'm fine with a remake. Why would I want a quadruped? The title says it up front: "Wolfman". I've seen the original. Your damn good feeling is incorrect as is the straw man argument about CGI. |

Correction: It's not something you know, it's something you believe.
Believe what you like though. The average that has emerged with the RT reviews is right on the money IMO. The Wolfman is just not clicking with many, many people. |
