According to Variety, the film will be based on an earlier bad idea, Chris Anderson's Raging Bull II: Continuing the Story of Jake LaMotta (released in 1986 and, not surprisingly, now out of print), and would focus on "the early years of boxer LaMotta." Gee, that sounds just fantastic.

Hands up, who want to see this movie? I mean, come on, people! What logic is possibly being employed in even thinking about putting this film together?

Leave the original be for god's sake.

This is a horrible idea. The original should be allowed to stand on it's own without this supposed prequel piggybacking off it. The fact that this film is attempting to cash in off the name 'Raging Bull' is more than likely an indication that it doesn't have anything solely of its own to offer.

Seriously, would anyone really watch this? I mean, the people they'd wanna get hooked by using "Raging Bull" in the title are really the type of crowd who ain't gonna piggyback on such a useless prequel/sequel/etc... there's just no demand for one, at all.
