I'm so happy we got Azurik too. That game would have been so good with a complete overhaul from a company who could design a good control scheme. And some serious QA testing.

God I've been waiting four years for this game. Hopefully, it will all pay off "when it's done."

Looks kind of like what I wanted Resident Evil 5 to be. Hopefully, by some miracle my laptop is capable of running it the PC version (assuming that the PC version hasn't been canned)...

I wanna know if its still has the open world feel to it. I remember early reports saying the game was gonna be really open. Wonder if thats still intact.

I'm dying to get this game after seeing the E3 demo. I love noirish stories and really immersive gameplay, and Alan Wake looks poised to deliver both really well.

Alan Wake looks more like Alone in the Dark with its importance on light, and frankly that game just sucked....so if that game is similar we can only hope for average at best

Well Alone In The Dark use to be quite good back in the day, so that's not so bad. Plus, the playable demo at the conference we saw already seemed better then the newest Alone In The Dark

I can't remember if I posted this already or thought of posting it but Alan Wake will be everything Alone in the Dark wasn't.

As I recall, the vast majority of problems with Alone in the Dark were the crappy controls and buggy, unfinished nature of the game as a whole. Alan Wake doesn't seem to be buggy and I haven't noticed any complaints from hands-on articles about the controls.
Wow, I guess it's good that I totally forgot Alan Wake existed before seeing that footage, then. It was just a cool new game to me until I started reading about how it'd been in development hell for years, which jogged my memory of hearing something about it a long time ago.

Lots of bad people seem to be tossing at this game just because of the Alone in the Dark comparisons.
Which is unfair, I think. |

Especially since Alone In The Dark use to be pretty good for it's time and has a really cool idea behind it. Though I guess only people seem to know about the new one :/

I've been seeing more "Silent Hill but better" comparisons than Alone in the Dark ones, to be honest. Which is pretty good.

I hadn't even thought of Silent Hill to be honest, but the story does kind of seem like one that would come from those games. Tormented horror writer apparently with wifey problems having to live through his own nightmarish writings.

The comparisons with Alone in the Dark seem kind of silly anyway. What similarities are there, really, beyond it's dark, you play as some everyman dude, and scary s*** happens? That's basically every survival horror game ever.
