Default New Trailer - crash scene

I watched the new trailer again and I been thinking:

That car crash scene is bit over the top, I will be shocked if Bond survived that because the car takes twice turns before it lends on the road and the producers talk about making James Bond more human so no human wouldn't have survived that crash. Don’t you think?

Yeah I know it's BOND he survives crap

The thing about accidents is that it's not always the most horrendous looking incident that causes the most damage and in this case if Bond had his seat belt on and the car is fully equipped with safety features then he may escape with little more than a concussion

I almost cried when I saw the damage inflicted to that beautiful car.

Helluva impressive stunt though. I'm definately looking forward to going back to the days when Bond was known for it's impressive live action stunt work rather than having to rely on CGI.

I'm thinking this is how Bond is captured for his torture scene, with LeChiffre's goons taking him out of the car all knocked up and not in a position to fight back.

He said "yield".

And yeah the stunt does seem over-the-top, but it's a Bond flick. It's the spectacle of the franchise that keeps the audience coming back. I loved it personally.

I agree. In the book, LeChiffre puts down a row of spikes to capture Bond after kidnapping Vesper. Here, they tie her and leave her in the middle of the road for Bond to run over.

Awesome.

What if Bond bailed out before the car flipped?

He very well may have. However, he's still going to be injured either way.

But this is definitely the scene where they capture him and then go to work on his testicles with the carpet beater.

I just think it was better to lay her down in the middle of the road than the old spikes across the asphalt move like in the novel. Another thing I like in this modern take on the story is that Bond is the reason LeChiffre loses the money in the first place.

In Fleming's novel (which is still great by the way), LeChiffre loses the money through a bad investment in a chain of brothels.

Come on dude, you want to talk about things being OTT in a Bond movie?

If you go through that clip frame by frame you'll notice that the car is facing a different direction when they change camera angles, I think part of the crash was cut out of the middle for the trailer, could make it look faster and more spectacular than it actually is. Of course it could also do the opposite

the car flipping and tumbling isn't as bad as it looks. was doing kinda of a roll and it never really landed on it's roof. as long as the car doesn't land on it's roof all Bond (stuntdriver) would recieve are a few bruises...maybe a broken bone or a few.

I've stated on a previous thread the car crash gave me "chills" and honestly it did. We've seen Bond tackle men with metal teeth, laser satellites, assassins, rogue 00 agents, but this cash is something else. It's the kind of moment where you feel like you could cringe because it's hyper-realism (Like Nolan's Batman movies) where it's real be ass you said Two Face it's accentuated and taken further. Great stuff.

It´s Bond, Bond can do anything...Bond could kill Superman...without kryptonite... What he´d do, of course, is have his way with Lois Lane in front of supes till he (supes) has a heart-attack...
