The Batman has his own forum and I don't like the show. BTAS rocks!

It has some major flaws. Ones that should have been fixed by the time the series started.

I like the animation style, but the writing is very poor and simplistic. I know that you will argue that the show is for kids, but this show seems to be written more for the mildly mentaly retarded. It just doesn't live up to BTAS in any fashion.

the writing sucks, the voiceacting is incredibly retarded, and Batman looks like he'd be a rampaging mutant from "The Hills have Eyes". If you DO enjoy "The Batman" you may also enjoy such timeless animated television series' as "Savage Dragon", "Street Fighter", and "Hulk Hogan's Rockin Wrestling". Those are the same caliber of what you're looking for I would think.

Considering I've seen half of Season 4 already thanks to....*Cough* "friends" of a certain company that will remain nameless....I'm willing to bet you'll all like Season 4 and Season 1 to come. Why do I say Season 1? Oh....well, it has something to do with the an alien afraid of fire and his new best friends in a tower in the sky.

"The Batman" has a lot of things going for it. People need to give it another chance.

Keep hangin' in there.

Quote:
Neither Two-Face or Harvey Dent have appeared in the new animated series The Batman, although elements of the character, including the concept of a law-enforcing friend of Bruce Wayne being turned into a horribly defaced villain, are present in the show's interpretation of Clayface. However, rumors persist that Two-Face will appear on The Batman in a version of Batman: The Long Halloween.

Unfortunately, that's the problem. You are, of course entitled to like (or not)
anything. BTAS was so well loved by fans, that those same fans will not give ANYTHING a chance. I'd say about 90% of the time the reason somone says they don't like The Batman is fundamentally because it's not BTAS, and I think that's unfair. Of course it's not BTAS, it was never meant to be. I agree it needs improving, but it's not the worst show I've ever seen. That would be reserved for The SuperFriends and other superhero cartoons of that era. The Batman is a masterpiece compared to that crap.

I agree that BTAS is a hard standard to meet. However, I think that "The Batman" and "Superfriends" are pretty much the same thing... the only difference being the eras and pop culture cliches. Yeah, maybe it was cheesy to have the happy-go-lucky heroes back then. You know what? In 2006 it's JUST AS CLICHE to have a grumbling, raspy voiced hero who clings to the shadows. In both shows, nobody ever dies or is seriously injured. The good guy ALWAYS wins with no real sacrifice, and the story always wraps itself up, careful not to make any serious changes within the 18 minutes that would change the formula for the next episode. Different eras but pretty much the exact same format. Atleast BTAS had some sort of continuity and the characters all felt like unreal characters in a real environment (or atleast close). Cartoon wise, I'm a fan of anything that's good and Batman is not my favorite character but I'd have to say that BTAS was the best cartoon writing ever from us Americans.

I agree fully. The animation is about all it has going for it. I hate the artwork, the writing, and just about everything else on the show.

HOWEVER, I will say that I seem to be one of the only people who actually likes the "Gothic" Riddler. The rastafarian Joker and Bane the Killer Tomato, though, I can do without.

Well. we'll just have to agree ot disagree, I really don't think it's as bad as that. And it's nowhere near as bad as Superfriends or it's contemporaries. I can testify to that as I used to watch them as a kid. The Batman is much better tahn any of those, I would have loved to have watched that instead. And as far as your complaints go, those would be valid if the show was meant for adults, The Batman is directed at kids and as such it's better than most shows directed at that same audience. Is it perfect? No, by no means, but neither is it a terrible show. Comparing it to BTAS is unfair at best.

I regret to inform you, but using your logic, we should really like Batman Forever and Batman & Robin, not to mention the 60's TV show, even though they aren't as good as Batman Begins.
WB has boxed itself into a corner. If they had never produced Batman the Animated Series, The Batman may have been accepted, for all its flaws. But because they showed us something so much better before hand, and THEN decided it was ok to shove crap into our television screens, they have pissed off alot of people.
By that token, there should be no argument as to which is better.
There should be no argument as to why The Animated Series was better.
It just is.
And whether we like it or not, The Batman is going to be here for as long as WB decides to waste money on it. True Batman fans simply won't watch it, and eventually it will die.
Telling people off because they are comparing it to TAS and finding it sadly lacking is not going to make this show any better, especially when you advice us(fans who know better) to like it anyway, despite the fact that it isn't good enough.
By that logic you are advising us to like McDonalds after having eaten a five course meal at a local Five Star restaurant, despite the difference in quality.
Fans have always held high standards. Without them, shows/movies/comics/etc would dissolve into total crap without regard for quality, because we would have just decided to "like it anyway".

Like I said before..."The BAtman" is a 21st century product of Standards & Practices thinking Children can't understand actual violence. I don't think I've ever seen Batman in "The Batman" actually hit someone other than "implied violence."

In today's standards...Batman:TAS is considered "adult."

What now? I know J'onn's appearing in season 4, but don't tell me they're doing a new JL show ALREADY? That's absolutely ridiculous if that's what you're implying.

I'd love to see Legion of Superheroes spin off into another SUperman show (i.e. after Clark gets back home) that was in the The Batman universe (and is or is that not the same universe as Teen Titans?) but another JL series so soon after the fantastic and cancelled far too soon JLU is utterly absurd.

Or is it just a solo Manhunter show? That could be cool.
