Default TOSHIBA Three-Layer Disc Combines DVD, HD DVD

COULD THIS BE A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM OF TRANSITIONING THE '360' FROM 'DVD-9' TO 'HD-DVD'? IT'S CERTAINLY A POSSIBLILITY, SINCE 'MS' AND 'TOSHIBA' ARE PARTNERED IN THE 'HD-DVD' FORMAT.

That would be great... but there have already been HD-DVD/DVD combo discs in stores.

1.) THIS IS A NEW PATENT AND TECHNOLOGY.......THERE'S NOTHING AVAILABLE LIKE IT, ATM.

2.) THE FACT THAT IT'S 'TOSHIBA', AND SHOULD BE AVAILABLE BY EARLY NEXT YEAR, MAKES IT MORE RELEVANT TO THE '360'.

The difference here is that the HD-DVD and SD-DVD is on the same side. These are Single-sided Dual-Format disks.

Blu-Ray can do the same thing, so it's not like this will help or anything. And really, I doubt this would help anyone transition. Cheaper players and cheaper HDTVs are all that's going to help.
