well it's only the playstation and spider-man that can save sony so they might aswell try to combine the two. why do you think the first PSPs came with Spider-man 2 on UMD for free. i'm surprised sony don't use their own first parties for a spider-man game really. neversoft and treyarch have been good for spider-man games and superhero games in general tho. since most other superhero games seem to try to copy the spidy ones asmuch as they can.

Apparently they also own the rights to the CONCEPT of a spider-man film.

In a recent interview, Brian Michael Bendis said that originally during the arc of Ultimate Spider-Man where spidey drops in on Sam Raimi making a movie about Spider-Man, Sony Pictures had to OK that, because they own the idea of a spider-man movie. They said no at first. Right after Bendis rewrote it to be "Arachno-Man: The Movie", a cheap knockoff film, Sony gave the go-ahead, after hearing a lot of pressure from Marvel execs.
