Default Your chronological timeline of favorite toys/action figures

I'm curious to see what toys/action figures everyone loved depending on their generation.

I was born in 1976:

LEGO (late 70s late 80s)
G.I Joe figures (80s)
MASK figures (80s)
ZOIDS (80s)
Secret Wars figures (80s)
Transformers/Go-Bots figures (80s through 90s)
Star Wars figures (didn't get into these figures till mid 80s)
Indiana Jones figures (mid-80s)
C.O.P.S. (late 80s)
Muscle Men (late 80s)
LEGO (90s)
MARVEL LEGENDS (2000-)

Born in 82......Star Wars toys were kicking around from my Brothers.....then My Brother and I got into The Ninja Turtles....I stayed with them longer then he did, He went over to those little tiny guys with magnets on thier feet, they rocked....Food Fighters popped in a bit, as did Sky Riders (Or whatever they were called....then the bestest toys came that took over my child hood, The Mutha ****in Battle Beasts Biches...these things ruled my Childhood from 8 to 16 man, I still gots **** loads of them....I didn't buy many new figs from 12 on, but kept with the Battle Beasts........When I hit 18 I discovered the ...I guess it was 19, anyway that's when X-men Classics came out, then Marvel Legends, then I hit me up the 90s Marvel and X-men/X-force stuff.

Now it's Star Wars, ML, DCD, DCSH, McFarlane, Neca, Muppets, Bowen Busts, Diamond Statues, Street Fighter, 90s Dick Tracy, Play Arts Final Fantasy.....a lot of stuff really

ROUGHNECK,
I couldn't think of those little space figures with the magnets on the feet too and they came with little vehicles. I loved those...and also Battle Beasts. Small figures were in at that time - magnet feet figures, Muscle Men and Battle Beasts - I loved those...This is why I like Marvel Legends Showdown figures - small little articulated figures.

JACK SKELLINGTON,
if you were born in 84, how did you get into M.A.S.K. and Thundercats - were those your older brothers toys that you just happened to play with?

So it seems like people born in the early/mid 80s were really into TMNT, Real Ghostbusters, and X-Men figures. So you guys didn't really hear or care about GI JOE, Transformers, and Star Wars figures till you guys got to be young adults? When I was in junior High and High school, I loved watching TMNT, Real Ghostbusters and X-Men but never cared about the toys - that was the stage when I was out of toys or actually just wasn't tempted to buy toys during junior high and high school. It was only late in college where I got back into toys...

Nope. I'm the oldest in the family. Why, what year(s) were they 1st released? Bare in mind I'm from the UK & we dent to get shows later than you folks in the US.
I don't know how old I was, but I remember them being on TV all the time & me having loadsa the figures, vehicles & , in the case of the T'Cats, the Cats Lair. That was so cool! lol
M.A.S.K I remember being my fav show as a kid. Was into it in a big way! Had the lunch box, placemats, bedcovers, the lot! Oh yeah, & the toys. Haha.

JACKSKELLINGTON: ahh, if you are from UK, that explains it. It seemed that M.A.S.K. was really popular over there too, you guys even got more M.A.S.K. stuff such as comic books. I think in the USA it only was on tv from 1984 to 1986ish. Once the show got canceled, I don't even think they played it on tv throughout the years on the cartoon channels. Do you remember if they always had M.A.S.K. on tv in UK even after the show got cancelled?

I just asked my Dad, & he said that I was really into M.A.S.K around the age of 3 upwards. So that places the TV show at about 1987/88. No idea if this was the 1st time it was shown over he in the UK, but with all the toys & other merch being out at the time, it looks like it was. So we got it well after it was cancelled in the US! Sounds about right. lol
I remember M.A.S.K being on TV all the time as a kid & I think I even had some eps on VHS. Then it just stopped & then next 'hot' TV takes it's place...as is always the case.
Funny thing though, a couple of years back, Fox Kids/Jetix started showing M.A.S.K (& Jessie & the wheeled warriors) again from like 11pm-1am on weeknights. Was quite fun taking a li'l trip down memory lane & re-watching some of the old episodes. I was quite suprised by just how much of the show I remembered to!

I had that same battle beasts set. i had a good bit of them, but i probably was into them just a couple months. i also had and probably still do, all the bucky-0-hare figures. i mixed them in with turtles. I also had a bunch of those mad balls. my dad and i used to throw them at each other in a long hallway at our old house. of course i was around 6 or 7 and he used to beat the crap out of me with those d*** balls.

That's true. The Turtles were the best. I wish they'd release the original TMNT series on DVD. I'd snap that up in a second! Still waiting for the bloody Thunder Cats one to hit these shores actually.

dude, they are releasing the original episodes. they have 5 volumes out right now. those 5 volumes consist of season 1, season 2, and i think the last three split up season 3. But they are out there. Each volume is out at WM for like $10. I wish they'd just release them by full season, but i'll take what i can get.
